ENERGY MANAGEMENT PRINCIPLES

1. 2. 3. Energy Management
This is not about energy conservation or energy efficiency it is energy management.

This is a process and not a project No end it has a starting but no ending. This is going to be a major change effort

ENERGY MANAGEMENT PROCESS

Get Commitment
Energy Policy, leaders being role models Support culture change Where is electricity used, when is it used, why is it used, real time feedback How much does it cost, Identify and correct wasteful practices. Identify and install equipment or techniques that use energy more efficiently Identify the best form of energy to be used, look for some creative ideas for energy supply. Support culture change, energy management as a way of doing business, connect to safety, environment, reliability, production

Understand energy usage Culture Cha ange R d Reduce W Waste t Improve Efficiency Optimize Supply Integrate with the business

THE THREE PS
People Measures to engage and educate employees in saving energy Projects Measures to reduce energy costs through improvements to electric enduses such as air compressors uses, compressors, pumps pumps, fans fans, and lighting Processes Measures to improve the way the company works, such as incorporating energy monitoring, targeting and reporting into its existing management system. t

WHY DO YOU NEED AN ENERGY MANAGER

We maintain a philosophy of continual improvement of our forest practices and manufacturing processes to optimize the use of resources and minimize or eliminate the impact of our operations on the environment environment. We will conserve, reduce and recycle resources required for the production of our pulp for optimal use of energy and raw materials and disposition of waste. With the demand for energy increasing around the world, we recognize the need to use energy efficiently across our entire company, whether in our offices or in our operations that produce our oil, gas, coal, and electricity. We have made a long-term commitment towards reducing the energy we use in our day-to-day operations. Energy efficiency provides the easiest, cheapest and most reliable source of "new" energy available today.
