Client Side Machine Requirements

AfterCAD InSite will work on any Windows computer with an internet


connection, but we recommend the following minimum hardware levels for
optimum performance:

32MB Video Card


256MB Memory
1GHz Processor

Internet Connection
AfterCAD recommends the following minimum internet connection speeds:

ADSL
Cable

Browser Requirements
AfterCAD InSite will run on the following browsers:

Internet Explorer, version 6 or higher


Mozilla Firefox, version 1.5 or higher

Using AfterCAD InSite

Getting started with AfterCAD InSite is as simple as visiting a web page on


the internet. You should be supplied with a web address (URL) providing the
location of your system administrator's installation of AfterCAD InSite. Enter
this address into the address bar of Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox (or
simply click on the link).

Pan and Zoom

Navigating your CAD files is simple with the InSite Pan and Zoom tools.

To pan: left click on the diagram, hold and move your mouse.

To Zoom in: left click on the "Zoom In" button.


To Zoom out: Left click on the "Zoom Out" button.
To Zoom all of the way out in one click: left click on the "Zoom Out
Maximum" button.

Layers
Your CAD file may contain a series of layers. The layers palette is accessed
by left clicking on the layers button.

The Layers Palette should appear with the name of each layer, a thumbnail
and an "eye" icon.

AfterCAD InSite allows you to toggle layers on and off by left clicking the
"eye" icon to the left of the thumbnail image within the layers palette.

Annotations

Annotating diagrams is as simple as placing a flag on the drawing, left


clicking on the flag then typing an annotation in the small word processor
window that appears.

To access the Annotation Toolbar, left click on the "Annotation" button. There
are three different annotation flags on the annotation toolbar.

1. Place an annotation on a point on the diagram


2. Place an annotation on a rectangular portion of the diagram
3. Place an annotation on an elliptical portion of the diagram

Draw Tools

AfterCAD InSite includes basic draw tools accessed by clicking on the "Draw
Tools" button.

Select a tool (line, circle, ellipse and rectangle) and use your mouse to draw.
Click on the color palette to change color.

The Draw toolbar also includes a convenient eraser tool. Simply select the
eraser tool and click on the item you wish to remove.

Print Preview

Displays Print View page for printing purposes. This page represents the
current view, in black and white and formatted for printing on 8 1/2 X 11
inch paper.

Get Diagram Link

Displays URL linking to the current diagram and view.

Email Diagram Link

Launches users email client and starts a new message linked to the current
diagram and view.

Support
Support is available for the AfterCAD InSite via email. When submitting a
support email, be sure to include the following:

1. Your return email address


2. Your full contact information
3. A detailed description of the problem
4. Your serial number
