relies on equipment and products identified by the API Monogram to get the job done right. esigned for manufacturers of production equipment, drilling equipment and now, refinery equipment, the API Monogram Program lets companies show the world what they!re made of. About APIQR Program "lobal demands and an increasingly competitive business environment in the oil and natural gas industry have created new measures by which organi#ations must demonstrate their abilities. $hat%s where the API&' can help. API&' is accredited by the A(A) *A(+I,A+& (ational Accreditation )oard- for I+. /001 and I+. 12001. API&' can register your organi#ation to I+. /001, API +pec &1, I+.3$+ 4/001, I+. 12001 and .5+A+ 16001 simply and easily. Certification Process .rgani#ations applying for licensing under the API Monogram Program must develop and maintain a quality manual that describes their quality management system and how it conforms to the requirements of API +pec &1. .rgani#ations participating in the API Monogram Program must also demonstrate continued ability to meet the technical requirements identified in the applicable API product specification*s-. Prior to submitting an application to API, organi#ations must have had a quality management system in place for at least four months. $his includes performing and documenting an internal audit and management review in accordance with the applicable standard. +ubmit the completed application forms, application fee, and the quality manual *if applicable-, and the API +pec &1, /th Edition 7onformity Matri8 and3or the API +pec &4 7onformity Matri8. $he quality manual must be written in English. API will review the application forms and the quality manual *if applicable- for conformance with program requirements and applicability of desired scope of certification. +hould application forms be incomplete, and3or should the quality manual be out of conformance with requirements, API will provide comments. 9or those applying for an API Monogram license, once the application pac:age, the quality manual and the API +pec &1, /th Edition 7onformity Matri8 are accepted, API will schedule an on,site audit. Audits include verifying the organi#ation%s conformance with API +pec &1 and any applicable API product specification. $he audit costs are at the organi#ation!s e8pense.

API will ma:e the certification decision on the basis of an evaluation of the audit findings and conclusions, and evidence of effective implementation of corrective actions by the organi#ation *if required-;. .rgani#ations licensed under the API Monogram Program will have audits scheduled every three years to ensure continued conformance with the applicable program requirements. Licensing Process 1. Apon receipt of your completed application documentation and quality manual, API will initiate a two,step process= $he API 7ertification Programs staff will review your quality manual and 7onformity Matri8 against API +pec &1 and the requirements of the API Product +pecifications under which you are see:ing licensing. If your quality manual and 7onformity Matri8 do not meet the stated requirements, you will be notified of any deficiencies and you will be required to resubmit a revised manual and3or 7onformity Matri8. Apon acceptance of your quality manual and 7onformity Matri8, an on,site audit will be scheduled at a time mutually convenient to your .rgani#ation and the designated API auditor and at your .rgani#ation%s e8pense. .rgani#ations will be given the audit team leader%s name and all other pertinent information regarding preparation for your on,site audit. 4. After the audit is conducted, the audit team leader will prepare a detailed report, and any nonconformances will be reviewed with the .rgani#ation representatives during an e8it interview. $he original report will be forwarded to the API 7ertification Programs staff for verification that the program described in the audited .rgani#ation%s quality manual is in place and functioning. <. $he API staff decision to issue a license is based upon objective evidence obtained during the audit that verifies conformance with API quality standards and API Monogram Program requirements. Please note that evaluation of >icensees is a continuing process with renewal audits required every three years. In the interim there can be unscheduled periodic or for,cause audits.
