Breathing in with the Respiratory System By: Naomi Weisner

The Respiratory System is ready to work 24/7. From inhaling oxygen, to exhaling carbon dioxideTo bring the oxygen to lungs, to exhaling carbon dioxide out.

When oxygen gets inhaled, oxygen first travels down the sinus, then the larynx. After the oxygen travels down a tube which is called the trachea, next, the oxygen gets split up into one of the lungs by the Bronchitube, which is called the trachea, next, the Bronchi split the oxygen up into one of the lungs. Once the oxygen enters the lungs, the travels down long narrow tubes called bronchiole tubes, Finallyfinally the oxygen reaches the alveoli that are covered in capillaries. At the Alveoli, red blood cells come to pick up the oxygen, while they drop off the carbon dioxide. Then, the carbon dioxide does the total opposite. As you inhale and exhale, your Respiratory System is doing its functions, the functions include: hHelping us breath, inhaling the oxygen and exhaling the carbon dioxide. The Respiratory System also interacts with many other bodyother systems. too! The Respiratory System interacts with the Circulatory System by the heart. After the red blood cells pick the oxygen at the capillaries, they travel to the heart, which pumps the blood all around the body. The Respiratory System interacts with the Muscular System as by the diaphragm, a muscle, assist with breathing. When you inhale and exhale the diaphragm is helping you get in the air and push it out. The Respiratory System interacts with the Skeletal System by the ribcage. The ribcage is many made up by many bone thatbones, which cage the lungs. All that coughing and wheezing is holding back what I want to say about the diseases that happen in the Respiratory System. Lung Cancer is one of the most commong diseases and m.m Most smokers can get itget

Comment [HL1]: Briefly explain this. Comment [HL2]: This introduction is too long. It should hook the reader and give a glimpse of what follows in this research resport. Comment [HL3]: Common noun. Comment [HL4]: This would be great for your introduction.

Comment [HL5]: Protection?

lungs cancer. The side effects includeare coughing, wheezing and dying 15 to 30 years early. AnotherThe other common disease is Asthma. This ise caused is by inborn or an inflamed bronchus. The sSide effects include: wheezing, coughing, an asthma attack, tightness in the chest and shortness of breath. During an asthma attack, your air waysairways swell up, making it very narrow and hard for oxygen to come in and out. If you have an asthma attack, you will need an inhaler. An inhaler is the medition to stop the air waysairways from swelling up. To keep your lungs in shape, you will need to make sure you follow these steps. First, never smoke because you couldwill get lung cancer and your cilia in your lungs will be covered in tar and your lungs will become black. Second, do daily exercise for at least 15-30 minutes each day to keep you lungs in shape. Lastly, dont hold your breath for too long or your muscles wont get as much oxygen. TI find the Respiratory System is pretty important. So make sure that you dont put it in harms wayget it injured and avoid things that could give you a respiratory disease. or a disease around the Respiratory System. So remember keep breathing and moving along.
Comment [HL7]: Are you really keeping them in shape by doing these things?

Comment [HL8]: What is the effect of this? Comment [HL9]: How does exercising help keep it in shape? What kinds of exercises in particular?

Comment [HL10]: I like this closing sentence!
