Founded in 2006 by vocalist/lyricist Alex Foster, guitarists Jeff Beaulieu and Sef, bassist Ben Lemelin along with drummer Charles Moose Allicy and keyboardist/vocalist Miss Isabel, Your Favorite Enemies decided early on to adhere to their punk-like sense of independence and artistic integrity, eschewing the trappings and infrastructure of the label system in favor of a true DIY ethos. We have always done things on our own. We have our own record label Hopeful Tragedy Records. We do our own merchandising, we have our own studio, and we have always been very close to our fans, which has allowed us to tour the world and do so many amazing things. We have always been operating in the shadows of the traditional music business path in a way, and we are thankful for that, said Beaulieu. Like the Punk bands of old, Your Favorite Enemies went directly to the people using the most accessible and democratic modes of communication available which, in the 21st century, means all manner of social media and internet platforms. Starting with a modest MySpace page the bands online notoriety grew exponentially as it became a veritable multimedia library, including blogs and content about various social welfare and human rights issues, of which the band is a big proponent. People started networking and joining in from places like the UK, France and Japan. And they started translating our content into their own languages and started their own fan communities. They were attracted to the issues we were talking about and our music. We started a weekly TV show called YFETV and people in all these countries would come together and watch them and interact with us. Its amazing. Thats why we never looked for a record deal, because we were going so well in creating our own community. Because of that, promoters all over the world approached us to do shows and tours. This social media onslaught, coupled with compelling, genre-bending music that defies the conventions and traditional formats helped spread the gospel of Your Favorite Enemies far and wide. The band was soon touring Europe, Australia, Japan, and in 2011 became the first international act to extensively tour China, playing 17 shows in 21 days, and then returning shortly after to surprise fans with a show at the Funhill Festival in Beijing, playing in front of 60,000 people. This is Jess Abbott of Now, Now's solo project. Her first album under the Tancred moniker and available on vinyl for the first time. Capes is a collection of ten musical vignettes. It has a run time of just under twenty minutes. None of the songs really have an identifiable format. However they do have recognizable beginnings, climaxes and ends, and string together in production and lyrical themes. Abbotts past solo music was pretty intricate in the guitar department, however Capes only contains flickers of that style. The lyrical themes and imagery are what binds the vignettes. Capes is a record that, in quick breaths, consists of vocals, guitars, keyboards, various percussion instruments and occasionally an unlearned accordion. Guitar is often the backbone of the songs, but they are also often a full band kind of thing, in a really gentle way. If that makes sense. If any of this makes sense.

Every band Ive seen in my life that just stands around and takes up your time and is boring I think of that band before we play and how I never want to be that way. Its a very aggressive approach and weve always been that way. The concert filmed for Rockpalast on 14 May 2009 at the Live Music Hall in Cologne, Germany leaves no doubt about this statement. E-Force was formed in Montreal in 2001 by vocalist/bassist, Eric Forrest, upon his departure from the legendary Canadian cyber metallers Voivod. In all, Eric spent seven years fronting Voivod. Joining them in early 1994, following the departure of vocalist Denis "Snake" Blanger, he appeared on two studio masterpieces, Negatron and Phobos, on the live album, Voivod Lives, as well as on the remix compilation, Kronik. Upon his departure from Voivod, Forrest chose to use his nickname, E-Force, as the name for his new band. E-Force released their debut album Evil Forces (recorded by Pierre Remillard known for his work with Cryptopsy, Gorguts, etc.), to widespread critical acclaim in October 2003. Following the release of Evil Forces, Forrest relocated to Toulouse in France which resulted in a line-up change. In February of 2008, E-Force finally released their follow-up album, Modified Poison. The album further expanded the sound and intensity of the band, impressing both fans and critics alike. E-Force have been labelled monsters of Thrash, and they are, but Eric Forrests wide array of musical influences, interesting lyrics and vocal capabilities set them apart from the pack and ensure that this band is very original. Throughout their 10-year history E-Force has released only two albums, albeit prominent ones, but nevertheless managed to perform in 18 different countries since the bands inception, appearing at some of the most prominent festivals of the musical genre.
Existance was founded in 2008 by Julian Izard (lead vocals & guitars) and Tom Drouin (bass), who shared a common goal of keeping the musical spirit of the 1980s Heavy Metal alive. If the last name Izard sounds familiar to the historians among youwell the apple doesnt fall far from the tree like father like son, Julian Izard is the son of Didier Izard, who was the vocalist with French speed metal band, HBomb, which regardless of featuring French language lyrics, and in spite of only being active from 198386, left a serious footprint on the European Heavy Metal scene of the 80s. Officially only releasing one EP, Coup De Mtal and one album Attaque, the numerous bootleg albums available today bear testimony to their status and influence on a next generation of bands, including Izard juniors Existance. By 2009 the Existance lineup completed, the band started out rehearsing and playing covers of such Hard Rock anthems like Dallas 1 PM (Saxon) and Cold Sweat (Thin Lizzy), refining their chops and become a lean and mean hard rocking machine. Not long after they began to write their own songs. The first half of 2013 was spent writing, rehearsing and finetuning and in September 2013 Existance re-entered the studio to record their debut full-length album entitled Steel Alive. Recorded and mixed at Boss Hog Studios in Ham en Artois, France, Steel Alive was mastered by none other than Maor Appelbaum in Los Angeles, who in the past has mastered masterpieces by (among others) Anvil, Dokken, Halford, Malmsteen, Sepultura to name but a handful out of a list of hundreds. The resultone hell of an ass-kicking album that proves true metal is Steel Alive.

Klaus Schulze the master of electronic music will release with La Vie Electronique Vol. 15 recordings from the years 1997 to 2000. With this edition the series La Vie Electronique comes to an end for the present. On CD 1 is the last of the 25 CDs in the JUBILEE EDITION set in 1997. Klaus recorded it during April 1997 in his studio. This long track is, as Klaus puts it: "...for playing along to. The listeners and fans can add their own melodies and sounds. Harmony is in C. They can play to it in c minor, g minor and f minor". Disc 2: The first two tracks (L'opera aperta & La tolleranza) are the second part and the encore of Klaus' solo concert in Bologna, Italy, on the 15th of December 1998 at the "Teatro delle Celebrazioni. The third track was especially recorded by Klaus for the ULTIMATE EDITION box in late October 1999. Disc 3: These three tracks are a collaboration with an old friend, the cello player Wolfgang Tiepold. Most of the Schulze aficionados know (and love) Schulze's vintage albums with Wolfgang. He visited Klaus in his studio again in summer 1999, twenty years after the two did some good things in concerts and on some albums (mainly X on which Tiepold also conducted the small orchestra for the famous Ludwig track).
Wherever they perform whether at the legendary hippie Burg Herzberg Festival or at the Leverkusener Jazztage in Germany at the end of the 90s, the Nancy Jazz Pulsations Festival in 76. or the renowned Bell Atlantic Jazz Festival in New York- French cult ensemble MAGMA has always left their fans or the uninitiated stunned and in awe. Led by their drummer and master of ceremonies CHRISTIAN VANDER, the band has consistently poured their magic potion, a substance brewed from 20th century classical music (Stravinsky, Orff, Bartok) and radical tendencies in 60s and 70s jazz and rock, over a spellbound audience for over 45 years. Despite their more jazzy leanings, MAGMA has always been able to attract a more rock-oriented, young audience from the very beginning. The pulverizing live performance documented on these 2 CDs was recorded at Magmas first concert in Germany on February th 6 1974. This official, professional and sonically improved Radio Bremen recording of this rather short-lived line-up contains a slightly shorter than usual version of MEKANK DESTRUKT KOMMANDH, and with the remaining tracks SOWILOI, DRUM SOLO and THEUSZ HAMTAAHK represents an indispensable supplement to MAGMA's other live albums released on their own label, SEVENTH RECORDS.

While Mott the Hoople were one of the greatest British rock bands of the 1970s, they were also a band unafraid to wear their hearts on their sleeves, and it's hard to imagine any other group of pile-driving boogie merchants who could have gotten away with songs as emotionally naked as "Sea Diver," "Hymn for the Dudes," or "I Wish I Was Your Mother." Recorded during a pair of Oslo concerts in 2002, this record gives Ian Hunter the chance to put his more personal side front and center for an evening. Recorded with a primarily acoustic band and a large string section helping out, Strings Attached features a set of Mott the Hoople classics and great songs from Hunter's solo career as he demonstrates the blend of hard-edged sentimentality and street smarts that has informed so much of his best work. In typical neo-Unplugged fashion, he album may not rock that much, but it has far more backbone than you might expect -- the strippeddown versions of "All the Way From Memphis" and "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" are great fun -- and it finds Hunter in strong voice, calling up the sort of passion that marks his best music. Part of what makes his songs so effective is the way he can tap into the deeper and more complex emotions that lurk inside even the toughest rocker, and put them into song in a way that respects their delicacy without sounding mushy or saccharine. Strings Attached gives Hunter the space to honour this side of his repertoire, and the results are both good fun and emotionally potent. Formed in 2008, Triology is a jazz trio featuring three of Canadas most sought after jazz musicians Jodi Proznick on bass, Miles Black on piano and Bill Coon on guitar. This group was fashioned after the great early jazz trios of Nat King Cole and Oscar Peterson, and features wonderful arrangements of classic standards, as well as original tunes by the trio members.
Interest in Guryan's recordings has been growing since the early 90s, since British band Saint Etienne covered "I Don't Intend to Spend Christmas Without You" for a 1998 fan club single. Linus of Hollywood met with Guryan in 1999, and as well as covering two of her songs on his Your Favourite Record album, reissued Take a Picture on his Franklin Castle Records imprint . The true action swinger himself, Ned Hayden, has a reputation of being a real son of a bitch, and its true, and if he wasnt, this music wouldnt exist in fact, it COULDNT exist.. The result aint pretty & it aint nice, a veritable briar patch of thickly chorded guitar fury. This set kicks off in a fit of feedback, then lurches into the fiery "Glad to Be Gone". From that point, without pause, Hayden and Co. slice and dice their way through 12 classics, from the dark and melodic "I Dont Wanna Be This Way" to the blistering hardcore of "Waiting for My Chance" to early rave-ups like "Kicked In the Head" (complete with a scathing, hilarious spoken intro!) Reptilian is proud to present Enough Already, the second Action Swingers disc for the label. Its the best, most consistent Action Swingers disc this side of the, never say die classic Decimation Blvd. 20odd minutes of punk rock windshear. Key Points: Black Pistol Fire is a Canadian Rock and Roll-worshipping duo that splits its time between Toronto, Ontario and Austin, Texas. Their wild and energetic rock n roll sound has been described as a mix of classic southern rock and garage punk, garnering comparisons to early Kings of Leon, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The White Stripes, and Clutch. The band features Kevin McKeown on Guitar/Lead Vocals and Eric Owen on Drums. The two have been friends since kindergarten and began playing music together when they discovered a shared passion for rock and roll music in high school. In 1981 James Taylor released Dad Loves His Work, an album of all-original songs, many of which seem to reflect his immanent divorce from Carly Simon. On the hit song Her Town Too Taylor teamed up with renowned producer / musician J.D. Souther. Our remastering process brings out the music's true dynamics and original clarity with low levels of noise. In the remastering studio the audio tracks are handled in the form of high-definition, 96Kz / 24-bit digital files for greatest preservation of fidelity. Signal compression is sometimes used to bring out frequencies that were absent or barely heard in the original recordings, and we use the least amount of compression possible.

In 1973, even though he was very busy with his new functions at the head of Podium newspaper, Claude Franois didn't forget that he was, first & foremost, a singer. And when he heard his fans humming a Patrick Juvet song in the summer of 72 in Cannes, Claude Franois asked Juvet to compose a song: Le lundi au soleil (Monday in the Sun). At once the song spoke to all those who had to work Monday morning in bright sunshine. This CD contains all of the music recorded by a particularly strong sextet in 1953. With trumpeter Miles Davis, trombonist J.J. Johnson, tenor saxophonist Jimmy Heath, pianist Gil Coggins, bassist Percy Heath and drummer Art Blakey all in fine form, "Tempus Fugit" and "C.T.A." receive definitive treatment along with two Johnson compositions. The first session features Davis in a sextet with trombonist J.J. Johnson, altoist Jackie McLean, pianist Gil Coggins, bassist Oscar Pettiford, and drummer Kenny Clarke; highlights include "Dear Old Stockholm," "Woody 'n You," and interpretations of "Yesterdays" and "How Deep Is the Ocean." The remaining six numbers showcase Davis in a quartet with pianist Horace Silver, bassist Percy Heath, and drummer Art Blakey, really stretching out on such numbers as "Take Off" and "Well, You Needn't." However, on "It Never Entered My Mind," Davis' muted statement (his only one on this set) looks toward his treatments of ballads later in the decade
