Level 1 Perform the given arrangement of Ode To Joy. Pay careful attention to the dynamics and expressive markings. Your performance may be submitted as a video recording. Level 2 Select a piece of Romantic music (that shows off your skills as a performer) and perform it on your instrument. Ensure that your piece has a variety of dynamics and expressive markings. Your performance may be submitted as a video recording.

Level 1 Compose an original 8 bar melody (in a similar style as Ode To Joy). Include a tempo indication, various dynamics and an expressive indication. Write for an instrument from the Romantic Orchestra. Level 2 Write a piece of music that tells a particular story (program music). Select or write a story and compose at least 12 bars of music (in a Romantic style) that tells your story. Include your story with the composition. Level 3 Compose the start (8 bars) of a symphony. Look at some symphonic scores of other romantic composers to emulate their romantic style. Include dynamic and expressive markings.
