Educational leadership, policy, Response to Intervention (RtI), assessment and data, special education, education technology, and professional development
Dr. Kathy Strunk is a Senior Associate with the Education Content Consultant (ECC) business line in PCG Education. Based in the Nashville ofce, she primarily supports projects and business development for the Mid-South region. Her area of expertise is providing consultation and training in special education, assessment, data analysis, and Response to Intervention. She is also involved in the development and implementation of PCGs EdPlan RTI and IMS assessment education technology solutions. Dr. Strunks current focus is on helping educators implement RTI and assessment initiatives in Tennessee and Arkansas.

EDUCATION AND AWARDS


Dr. Strunk earned a Ph.D., summa cum laude in Education Leadership and Policy Studies, Department of Leadership, Policy, and Organizations at Vanderbilt University. She earned an M.A., summa cum laude in School Counseling from Western Kentucky University and a B.S., summa cum laude from Western Kentucky University in Elementary Education and Music. Dr. Strunk has received multiple honors and awards, including Teacher of the Year and Peabody Colleges Distinguished Academic Achievement and Service in Leadership and Organizations Award.

EXPERIENCE AND AFFILIATIONS


Dr. Strunks experience prior to joining PCG Education includes 17 years as a public school educator, four years as strategic accounts manager for Discovery Education Assessment, and four years as Director of Special Education Assessment, the Tennessee State Improvement Grant, and RtI initiative for the Tennessee State Department of Education. She has served as Board Member for the Tennessee PreK Advisory Council, the IRIS Center for Faculty Enhancement, Peabody College, Vanderbilt, and the Tennessee Parent Regional Resource Center. Dr. Strunk is a member of the American Educational Research Association and a past member of the Council for Exceptional Children and the National Society for the Study of Education.
