Program(s)/Tools: Adobe Photoshop Objectives: My objective is to show people

that camping can be a fun and enjoyable thing in your life, its supposed to make someone want to go camping.

Process: First I cropped the background image

to 8.511 in Photoshop. I selected the image of the family at the campfire and moved it onto the background and added a mask to blend it in with black paint and a 100% opacity, soft edged brush. Then I painted away the hard image edges. With a larger black brush at 30% opacity and 30% flow, I blended the image into the background. then I repeated this process with the image of the marshmallow. Then I found some good fonts and added the text.

Objectives: To

get people to want to visit the Camden Aquarium. The brochure was created to tell them about the aquarium and the exhibits within it.

Process: I set up the one sided fold in Adobe

InDesign. I used the blue waves and the orange circles to create repetition throughout the brochure and make it fit with the theme of the ocean and pictures of water. For the image of the dolphin I used the quick selection tool in Adobe Photoshop to remove the background around the dolphin. I got the refine mask dialogue box to smooth, feather, shift edge and apply contrast to the outline of the dolphin. Then I used text wrap to wrap my text around the image. I created the logo in Illustrator using the shape tool creating a few different circles and then cutting them out and overlapping them, and then put it in my brochure.

Objectives: That Shannon Voge creates and

sells hand-made hair bows and flowers for little girls. I wanted to show this by using the flower theme and colors to appeal to younger girls, and give it a fun and cute feel.

Process: I used the shape tool and created an

ellipse, stretched it and used the convert anchor point tool to change the end. Then I used the rotate tool to create more petals evenly. I made a few of those and changed the colors and sizes. I used the paintbrush tool to get the chalk looking line at the bottom of the letterhead. Then I changed the opacity of the large green flower on the letterhead to 15% to turn it into a watermark.

Program(s)/Tools: Adobe Illustrator Objectives: Surf City Squeeze is a fun place to

get good smoothies and creates a beachy feel.

Process: I first typed out the name of the

company three times and then started playing around with the fonts to see what I could do with them. I used the shape tool to create circles and cut them out to create the wave look and added it on top of the text. Then for the last one I made a circle and filled it in with orange to get it to have a sort of orange fruit look. I also used the shape tools to create the surf board and the drink and included them into the circle. Then I curved the text around the circle by using the type on a path tool.

Objectives: A fun design that mostly appeals

to girls because of the flowery designs and one that left a message that could remind them to in a way, forget their troubles and enjoy the little things in life.

Process: I put items together to make the color

scheme happen and took the photo. I used my point and shoot Cannon digital camera. Then I brought the image into Photoshop to edit it. Then I designed a layout that included my photo, text, and repeating design elements with the color scheme I chose. I included the color scheme title, color swatches, and color names into my design. And then I used the shape tool to create the flower petal shapes that I included and added the names onto.

Objectives: This is a fund raiser to raise

money in an interesting way to renovate the Senior Center.

Process: I chose to make my ad around this

picture. I scanned it in and then inserted it into a Word document. I then played around with the shapes tool until I figured out where I wanted the rectangles to go and how I wanted the repetition. I decided to use all of the colors that were in the picture since it had such a great color scheme. I made the rectangles all the same size and then created a smaller one to go under all the text so that it could create another repeating pattern. I chose for the title, a font that looked more on the old fashion side and and then a clear easy to read font for the body.

Program(s)/Tools: Adobe InDesign Objectives: My object for this flier is to reach

out to recent graduates, who want to learn how to become strong leaders, to inform them about this conference and how it will benefit them.

Process: For this flier, I started with drawing

up some sketches of possible layouts. Then I selected the sketch that I liked the best and used it to create this layout, which I did in Adobe InDesign. I used black rectangles to create some alignment and contrast. I emphasized the word graduate in my title to add more of a variety and to create a focal point for that title. I created a good amount of white space and kept my body copy small. I was given the links to the image, logo, and content for this flier.

Program(s)/Tools: TextWrangler Objectives: To create an original web page

that shows that Surf City Squeeze is a fun place to get a good smoothie.

Process: I added in all of the content I needed

in TextWrangler and then inserted my logo. I attached a pre-made CSS document to my HTML. I then used the colors from my logo as the colors for my web page except I made them a lighter version of the colors to give it some difference. I got these colors onto my CSS document by opening Photoshop and using the eyedropper tool. I also changed my fonts to Arial and Verdana and made sure they were general fonts that any computer would have. I also added some extra padding around the logo and text so that they would not be too close to the edge of the web page and shifted the text so that the logo was on the right side of the body.
