Paschal Mystery: through death to life

Call to Prayer: On the cross, we see the most vivid act

of the two become one flesh. In this perfect act of love, Jesus is taken up into the life and love of his Father. The Resurrection is the Fathers response to all that Jesus said and did. Catholic Update, March 2012, T. Richstatter OFM, p. 3

Paschal Mystery: through death to life

(cont)

Psalm 143: 8-12 (ICEL translation, Liturgy Training Publication) Side 1: Let morning announce your love for it is you I trust.
Side 2: Show me the right way, I offer you myself. Side 1: Rescue me from my foes, you are my only refuge, Lord. Side 2: Teach me your will, for you are my God. Side 1: Graciously lead me, Lord, on to level ground. Side 2: I call on your just name, keep me safe, free from danger. All: In your great love for me, disarm my enemies,

destroy their power, for I belong to you. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen. Reading: On Easter Sunday, my meditation was on
my desire to rise with Our Lord. Since, without death, there can be no Resurrection, I realized that it was my inclinations which must die I saw clearly that of myself I could never hope to achieve this, but it seemed to me that our good God was asking it of me. Therefore, I gave Him my full consent to operate in me by His Power whatever he willed to see accomplished.

Reflection:
What new life has come from death for me? When have I seen new life from death in someone living in poverty?

Prayer All: Loving God, by raising Christ from the dead and raising us with Christ, you fashioned for yourself a new people. In the beauty of this Easter season, set our minds on the new life to which you have called us. Place on our lips the words of witness for which you have anointed us and ready our hearts to celebrate the festival, the fifty days of Easter joy. We ask this through your Son, the Christ, our Passover and peace, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever.
