Sub. Main Pump specification - HFTF In the HFTF facility two pumps connected in parallel, provide the required flow at the operating pressure. A booster pump is also provided at the inlet of the main pumps. The booster pump is provided with a flow rate of 140 m 3/h at 3 bar pressure. The Main pump generate the required flow and _pressure for the smooth operation of the loop during testing. The maximum pressure and flow rate requirements for HFCV, for flow capacity tests as per the 1 procedures are 62.9 bar@ 22m3/hand 110m3/h @ 58.7 bar(for both valves together). The permanent pressure drop due to all components other than HFCV, CVl & CV2 at rated flow is less than2 bar (ref: Design Basis Report-High Pressure High Flow Test Facility (HFTF) Rev#14.). The control valves CV2 and CVl are provided to create the required pressure at the upstream of the HFCV under test. Considering these factors, two identical pumps having a delivery pressure of 70bar@60m3/h should suffice the test requirement. As per the specification approved by BARC, the pressure and flow 3 requirements of the pumps are 75 bar@ 70m /h. Two separate attempts were made to procure pumps with the above specification (75 bar.@ 70m /h). Unfortunately only one party has quoted with the above specification with all wetted parts in Stainless steel with a delivery time of 7 months as these pumps are not in their standard range. It is requested that the operating parameters of the pumps may be modified as 60m3/h @ 75 bar instead of 7Sm 3/h @75 bar. All these pumps have a delivery period exceeding 5 months as they are not standard models. The HQ curve of the second party quoted for both the above tenders is also attached here with. This 3 pump can develop 60m3/h @ 75 bar. This can develop 70m /h @ 72 bar (please refer attached pump curve) and will operate at best efficiency point (BEP). Also the Booster pump is capable of delivering 3 bar line pressure. Thus testing of an HFCV can be done with a single pump itself as anticipated in the MOU. It is requested that you may consider the above case and intimate the modification in the pump specification so as to proceed with tendering with modified specifications.
