Activity:
There are several factors to consider when choosing a high school, including: Size, Graduation Rate, Location, Theme, Services, Application Process, Extra-Curriculars. Different factors matter to different people, so it's important for the students to know which factors matter most to them by listening and viewing a PowerPoint and using the Internet to complete a comparison chart .

Evaluation: How will each of the following be collected? Process Data (Using figures, such as numbers of students served, groups and classroom visits) Perception Data (This data measures what students and others observe or perceive) OutcomeData (Written presentation of the outcomes of counseling program activities)
Process Data: 100% of students will demonstrate their ability to use information pertaining to high school enrollment, the application process and their individual options, to select an appropriate high school. Perception Data: Students will be able to verbalize factors to consider when looking at different high school programs. Outcome Data: Students will complete an exit slip that answers the question: Of the factors you learned about today, which three are most important to YOU in choosing a high school? Why do these factors matter to you?

Why do these factors matter to you? Students will be able to verbalize 5 different CPS high school program options. Students will be able to describe why they prioritize high school programs based on the 7 factors and CPS program criteria.
