BIOL 124 Cell Biology Laboratory [0-2-3:3]


Exploration and understanding of both theories and practical techniques in cell biology
through tutorials and hands-on experiments. Microscopy, cell culture, cell fractionation;
and their applications in studying cell division and gene expression will be covered.
Corequisite: BIOL 104 Prerequisite: AL Biology

BIOL 128 Plant Biology Laboratory [0-2-3:3]


[Previous Course Code: BIOL 227] This course is designed to introduce theories and
practical techniques used in the current research of plant biology, plant molecular
biology and biochemistry to students. Corequisite: BIOL 108 Prerequisites: BICH 121
and BIOL 104

Structure and life processes in animals; neurophysiology; circulation; respiration;
digestion and absorption; metabolism and energy regulation; muscle and movement;

Classification, identification, structure, physiology, and genetics of microorganisms;
importance of microorganisms in health, environment, and biotechnology. Corequisite:

BIOL 222 Animal Physiology Laboratory [0-2-3:3]


Physiology is an experimental science and laboratory experience is an important part
of the discipline. Students will learn laboratory techniques and develop their powers
of observation and data recording to test basic physiological principles. Analytical skill
will be emphasized in both the tutorial and lab sessions. Corequisite: BIOL 202
Prerequisite: AL Biology

BIOL 226 Microbiology Laboratory [0-2-3:3]


Tutorial and practical instruction on cultivation, differentiation, and identification of
microorganisms, determination of microbial numbers, sterilization, disinfection,
antimicrobials, and the prevalence of microorganisms in the body and environment will
be covered. Corequisite: BIOL 206 Prerequisite: BICH 121

Project research in one of the Biology research laboratories under the supervision of
a faculty member; report; seminar presentation. Prerequisite: BIOL 397
