SCRA commitments

Servicemembers can limit interest rates to 6 percent for debt obligationssuch as credit cards and student loansif they obtained the loan prior to their entry on active military duty. The interest rate reductions are temporary and rates will return to the prior rate at the end of active duty (or longer as provided by the law for certain loans). Also, the difference between 6 percent and the servicemembers original rate during their term of active service is forgiven. In addition to our focus on compliance with SCRA, and in order to better support our SCRA eligible servicemembers who may be experiencing nancial stress, we have made the following enhancements: 4% interest rate for rst mortgage consumer real estate loans: Effective April 1, 2011, WellsFargo lowered interest rates to 4% per year on SCRA rst mortgage consumer real estate loans that we own and otherwise qualify for protection under Section 527 of the SCRA. WellsFargo will continue to work with our loan investors to provide this enhanced benet across all SCRA loans we service. Loan modication program: WellsFargo will offer an enhanced loan modication program to help servicemembers reach affordability for rst mortgage loans we own where the servicemember is experiencing an economic hardship and otherwise qualies for protection under Section 533 of the Act. Principal reduction, term extension and interest rate reduction will be offered to nd a workable solution. This program will be offered contingent on our knowledge of the customers active duty service or receipt of military orders. Grace period: WellsFargo will provide a full 12 month grace period following an SCRA eligible servicemembers return from active duty with respect to the interest rate protection under Section 527 of the Act; the 4% interest rate for rst mortgage consumer real estate loans described above; and foreclosure and repossession protections under Sections 532 and 533 of the Act for both real estate and personal property secured loans covered by SCRA. Second level review and approval: With respect to consumer real estate and personal property secured accounts, WellsFargo will implement a second level review and approval process for foreclosure or repossession activities for servicemembers covered by SCRA whose grace period has ended and for spouses and partners in a civil union or registered domestic partnership to whom we have extended SCRA type benets.

To qualify for the interest rate cap protection under SCRA:

The servicemember must notify WellsFargo and other creditors in writing of his or her intent to invoke the rate cap; The obligation must have been originated prior to the beginning of active duty; and The servicemember must provide proof of placement on active duty status.

Benets for spouse or partner in civil union or registered domestic partnership

WellsFargo recognizes that the nancial stress experienced by some of our SCRA eligible servicemembers is equally experienced by their households and families at home. Therefore, in order to better support SCRA eligible servicemember households and families, WellsFargo will extend SCRA benets and protections with respect to interest rate limitation and foreclosure and repossession protections to obligations of a spouse or a partner in a civil union or registered domestic partnership, where recognized under applicable state law, when WellsFargo is made aware of the customers relationship with a servicemember and supporting documentation is supplied. These protections will be provided if the obligation would have qualied for SCRA protection had the obligation been originated by the servicemember.

Servicemembers not covered by the Act

With respect to real estate or personal property secured obligations that would be covered under Section 532 or 533 of the Act but for the fact that the obligation was incurred during active duty, WellsFargo will not foreclose or repossess during the period in which the servicemember is officially deployed internationally in readiness for military action or to a hazardous area regardless of the date of the loan, contingent on knowledge and receipt of orders. In addition, we commit to actively working with these servicemembers for a period of at least three months after return on possible home retention options prior to moving an obligation into foreclosure proceedings.
