Christmas time is always a special time. Of course we Christians
recognize Christmas as the time that God sent His Son into the
world to save the world. It is also a time when most people
exchange gifts. As a child I always looked forward with anticipation
to Christmas Eve when those gifts would magically appear in the
night. It was our tradition that my little brother and sister and I
would wake up early and go out and see the tree lined with many
new gifts. What a wonderful time of receiving those special gifts!
When I ponder all the gifts I have received in my life, I must say I
am a blessed man! I have received so much in my life it
overwhelms me. But without hesitation the most incredible gift I
have ever received was the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ,
God‟s Son! It is by far the gift that has made the most difference in
my life. When I think of gifts that I have received, the free gift of
Salvation through Jesus is the one I cherish the most.
Any gift that is given must be received. Jesus said in John 1:12
„yet to all who received Him‟. A gift is not a gift until it is received.
Today we will be speaking on this most incredible gift of His grace.
The question is - will we receive this gift of all gifts?
