Rodriguez Apocalyptic Literature: Period 1 March 8, 2014 Modern Day Anti-Christ My Fellow Americans, I Am The Anti-Christ The President of the United States of America, Barack is this eras Anti-Christ. If we follow the criteria of what exactly the Anti-Christ is said to be, Barack Hussein Obama follows every single one of its characteristics. Not only is he the President of the United States, giving him the recognition and publicity that goes with such a powerful title, but he has become even more famous internationally and around the world by making history when he became the first African American President of the United States in 2008. Additionally, Obama is also portrayed to be a peacemaker. Not only does he spend time giving back to his community through service work or more than generous donations, the President has even received a Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples". Obama has also been seen citing scripture, such as during a vigil in Newtown where he citied 2 Corinthians saying: "Do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, inwardly, we are being renewed day by day." Lastly, Obama is also viewed by a vast amount of people as a miracle working, achieving great things and the impossible. To many people, African American and non African American, becoming the first black President of the United States was viewed as achieving what seemed to be impossible. Not only this, but many people in the LGBT community have also said to view Obamas work with passing same-sex marriage laws as miraculous. It is also stated in 2 Thessalonians that the Anti-Christ is one who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God. (4) which Obama has also been viewed as doing, seeing as how he has used Gods word to justify his policies, equating himself to God. Given all this information, Obama is truly shown to quite possibly be the Anti-Christ. As stated in the article Scripture or Scripted? by US News, author and political analyst, Michael Philip Walsh states Obama is too good to be true. Although many have become suspicious and distasteful of his actions, there are still many more that worship the ground he walks on. His charisma and ability to reach out to all people, is truly what makes him manipulative and ultimately, mans worst enemy. As clearly stated in this quote, Obama can definitely be a man of deception and control. Using his political power and status, as well as with the aid and support of his many supporters, he will inevitably bring man to its demise by telling us that he has pure intentions of helping the nations, but will actually be conducting a plot to start another World War while also creating inner struggles and conflict within each nation by attempting to alter their policies such as in marriage.
