PRINCIPLE OF RUKUN NEGARA

In accordance with the Yang diPertuan Agong as the King under the Constitution, the monarchy is also practiced in every state, and Yang Di-Pertua Negeri of the States that do not have a king. His Majesty, the Rulers and Yang Di-Pertua Negeri is a symbol of unity. Loyalty to King and country means that every citizen shall devote his full loyalty, honesty and sincerity to His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. At the state level, the people are required to devote loyalty to the king who ruled the country of their residence without reducing allegiance to the King.
