Mast and Tower Systems

WIBE. Or something equivalent?

What does equivalent mean here?

Many things can be judged more or
less objectively. Surfaces, wind loads
and other basics are just some exam-
ples. But when it comes to mast and
tower systems, where does equivalent
start? With site surveys and landowner
negotiations? Where does it end? With
installation and testing?
Experience has taught us certain
things. For WIBE there is no end.
There is always a next time. Further-
more, no two projects are exactly
identical. Irrespective of whether it is
a question of modifying an old mast,
or building a completely new one.
We are the market’s largest supplier
of mast and tower systems. The maxi-
mum height of our masts and towers
is 350 metres. For mobile telescopic
masts, the upper limit is 30 metres.
Our experience includes thousands
of completed projects. It embraces
everything from planning, assembly
and erection to start-up, fine-tuning
and servicing.
This experience is something we
very much like to pass on. Why?
Because there is no equivalent to
WIBE.
Communication masts

“This is the news…” “Today’s ship-

ping forecast…” “Hi, it’s John, is
Pete there..?”
We have over 50 years experi-
ence of mast and tower systems for
radio, TV and mobile communication
antennas. In the past few years alone,
we have manufactured, delivered
and erected more than 1,000 masts
for GSM and 3G networks in Sweden
and Norway. Alta, our modular mast,
is probably one of the most widely
used in the world.
Mobile network operators are
currently the largest users of our
services. However, our customers
come from all sectors where mast
and tower systems of high quality
are required for efficient communi-
cation. We work closely with, for
example, local authorities, rail net-
works and the emergency services.
Even though towers and masts are
our main products, we offer a com-
plete range of services. Everything
from finding a site and negotiating
with landowners to rebuilds and
beyond.
That no two customers are exactly
the same is another thing experience
has taught us. That is why we have
no off-the-shelf concepts. Instead,
we have a “palette” of services.
Using this, and taking your needs
as the starting point, we shape a
solution that is unique for you. This
may be a step-by-step process.
Mutual understanding develops.
Needs can evolve.
Finding the optimum site: Working
from the “radio plan”, and keeping
coverage and best overall economy
firmly in mind, we search out the most
suitable location. In the subsequent
report, we analyse: the technical con-
struction requirements at each site;
what permits are required; and, with
which landowners agreements must
be signed. All further contact is then
handled by our project managers.
The administration too!
Getting the system in place: We
are not just the largest manufacturer
of masts and towers. We are also one
of the very biggest installers. We take
care of the entire site. This includes
buildings and foundations. To the
customer’s benefit, these are often
supplied in a prefabricated format.
Our engineers always work very
closely with the customer. This
means that any alterations can be
rapidly implemented while the project
is in progress.
Getting the technology in place:
Our expertise covers all phases of
rollouts. Installation, start-up, etc.
included therein. For example, we
install radio, transmission, AC/DC
and TMA equipment. Where required,
we connect any external alarm
functions. We start up all kinds of
equipment. In both new and already
operational networks, we integrate
radio and transmission installations.
Of course, we also take care of the
on-site testing and verification of
equipment. This includes, amongst
other things, Drive Test, TEMS
measurements, etc.

And after that...: We are more than

happy to take responsibility for con-
tinuous maintenance. Both extremely
complex and absolutely mundane!
Furthermore, if capacity or coverage
ever needs increasing or extending,
we can take care of the necessary
reconfigurations. This covers tilting or
redirection of antennas, sectorisation,
sector splitting, etc. Finally, coming
full circle and returning to our core
area of towers and masts, we can
optimise existing infrastructure.
We can, for example, increase
tower height. Or, to give yet another
example, increase the load bearing
capacity of a mast or tower.
We do all the above. You choose
the palette!
Vi tänker länge.
Telescopic masts

Mobile telescopic masts in aluminium

for all weather conditions and heights
up to thirty metres...
Over the years, we have supplied
well over 10,000 telescopic masts.
They have many users: emergency
services (e.g. during forest fires);
mobile operators (as backup masts
and alternatives for redirecting
antennas to cover temporary needs);
police authorities; and, of course,
defence services.
We are expert engineers. We know
how to optimise strength and weight.
We know how to design ingenious
mounts that are both strong and
flexible. Thus, WIBE is more than
mast and tower systems. WIBE
is complete, tailored solutions.

WIBE was founded in 1929. Then
as now, its headquarters were in
Mora on the shores of Lake Siljan.
Solidarity and cooperation are still
ways of life here. Equally pervasive
is an energy that has shaped both
the company and the people who
work here.
We are now one of Mora’s largest
employers and are continuing to
grow. Growth is both inside and
outside Scandinavia, where we are
already market leaders in our two
main product areas – mast and tower
systems and cable support systems.
Mora inspires and drives.

WIBE is the market’s leading supplier

of telescopic masts and masts for lighting
and communication. Our experience comes
from thousands of completed projects.
It embraces everything from planning,
assembly and erection to start-up,
fine-tuning and servicing.
We are also market leaders in cable
support systems. Our product range here
includes cable ladders, cable trays, lighting
trunking and installation rails, steel wire
systems, integrated ceilings and, under
the DEFEM® trademark, mesh trays.
