Personnel: Sgt. Ferrell returned to work in a light-duty capacity on Monday. Staff continues to work on employee evaluations, year-end reports and other related human resources functions which are customary this time of year. Detectives: On Friday, Detective Holman and K-9 partner Raja, assisted the Drug and Gang Strike Force execute a search warrant in Superior.

Community Policing:
On Tuesday, Deputy Chief Hill participated in Imagine-it- Day at Esko School. Each year, professionals from several disciplines volunteer to serve on mock interview panels to help students refine their interview skills.

Patrol: On Monday, officers assisted the High School staff with a code blue exercise. Each year the school district conducts simulated emergency drills for the staff and students, to better prepare for such an event. Officers continue to be busy with snow related calls for service. This week, the driver of this truck struck the safety barrier on the North Channel Bridge. The barrier was destroyed as was truck. Fortunately, the driver was not hurt. All indications are that fatigue contributed to the crash.

Department Law Enforcement Study: Significant time has been dedicated to reviewing recommendations from the study. Terry and I have been reviewing and updating several department policies. We have reached out to other departments in regards to possible schedule changes. I contacted the Teamster Union to inquire about STO accruals.
