the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network, a non-partisan national coalition of hip-hop artists,

and j ustice reforms. This grant provides funding for the "Countdown to Fairness " media
and outreach campaign in New York State aimed at educating the public about the
harshness and harmful effects of the thirty-year-old Rockefeller drug laws.

The Prison Moratorium Project is a multiracial; youth led grass roots organization
dedicated to halting prison expansion, empowering youth and other constituencies
affected by mass incarceration, and advocating for fairer criminal justice policies .

Reporting Information: The Foundation has received and reviewed report(s) from
this organization on the following date(s) :

October 3, 2003

The JEHT Foundation reviewed the grant report(s) on the date(s) mentioned above, and
has undertaken verification of the grantee's report(s) to ensure the accuracy and
reliability of the report(s).

The Foundation made a grant to the Prison Moratorium Project following a pregrant
inquiry and pursuant to a written agreement. The total amount of the grant approved was
$85,000 and the grant was to be disbursed in two equal payments of $42,500 within the
fiscal year. The disbursement of the second payment was subject to the review of a
report on the expenses of the first payment. The Foundation has found Prison
Moratorium Project to be out of compliance with the written grant agreement . As a result
the final payment on the grant has been suspended and the Foundation has requested that
the amounts not spent in accordance with the grant be returned to the Foundation.
