The state of Kerala will host the National Games 2010. It is proposed to provide sports arena flood lighting for the following indoor multi-purpose stadiums: 1) Kannur indoor stadium. 2) KN !enon indoor stadium" Thrissur. It is proposed to illuminate the pla#ing arena of the a$ove stadia with a view to holding international level %ompetitions and with fa%ilit# for %olour T transmission. &a%ilit# for sele%tive swit%hing for pra%ti%e level mat%hes shall also $e provided. Illumination of other areas in the stadia is $eing %arried out $# other agen%#. 'rawings indi%ating the la#out of the stadia with pla#ing arena mar(ed therein are en%losed. )idders are re*uested to visit the site in their own interest and a%*uaint themselves further of the site details.

In addition to the a$ove spe%ified re*uirements for %ondu%ting televised events" $idders shall design lighting s#stem for a%hieving average hori4ontal lighting levels of =10 lu8 and :00 lu8 over the entire pla#ing arena for %atering to un-televised and pra%ti%e games. The uniformit# ratios for these levels shall $e . min 6 . ma8 > 0.:0 and . min 6 . avg > 0.90. !aintenan%e fa%tor of 0.70 shall $ %onsidered for the purpose of lighting design. Glare rating shall not e8%eed 0.10.
)idders shall furnish %omputer printouts on a grid of 2m ? 2m indi%ating verti%al and hori4ontal illumination levels with other parameters as spe%ified a$ove. /iming angles along with %oordinates shall also $e furnished together with photometri% details of luminaires %onsidered" for the purpose of evaluation. Evaluation o o !"# The offers shall $e evaluated $ased on the $ill of *uantities for various stadiums en%losed with the tender do%uments to determine the lowest responsive $idder. )idders shall %onfirm in their te%hni%al $id that the# will a%hieve the desired lighting levels within the *uantit# of flood light fi8tures spe%ified in the tender do%ument supported $# illumination design print outs and other re*uired information. 'uring evaluation in %ase it is determined that additional num$er of luminaires are re*uired to a%hieve the spe%ified design parameters" pri%es shall $e loaded for additional luminaires together with asso%iated e*uipment as well as for additional power %onsumption. In %ase of an# defi%ien%# in the design parameters found during e8e%ution stage after measurement of lighting levels" the su%%essful $idder shall over%ome the same $# re-aiming or suppl#ing and fi8ing additional luminaires and other asso%iated e*uipment at his own %ost.

EARTHING
The main lighting panels shall $e earthed at two points using 10 8 9 mm GI flats and other panels shall $e earthed using 21 ? < mm GI flats. .a%h floodlight shall $e earthed through a 1: Gauge GI wire.

The arena lighting is a spe%iali4ed Io$. The %ontra%tor shall deplo# a %ompetent single agen%# for design" suppl#" installation" testing" %ommissioning aiming and demonstrate the re*uired illumination lu8 levels on ground as %omputed $# them on a spe%ial software in the design stage. The written approval from respe%tive sports federation for proIe%ted illumination lu8 levels will $e mandator#.
