Abstract: The last 2 decades have been the most turbulent during times of peace in the last century.

The turbulence is caused majorly by the technological developments. Transaction mechanisms are becoming intangible every day because of technology. Meeting friends, sharing opinions, working on issues, managing routine functions do not require physical presence anymore. Innovation is the order of the day! Several products seldom run their natural course unless they reinvent. It can be exemplified by Orkut first of its kind social networking website which suffered from an early demise due to its inability to adapt and improve. Orkut founder, Orkut Byukkokten introduced the platform of social networking while Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook revolutionized it. And Zuckerberg continues to revolutionize it. This is why Facebook is omnipresent while Orkut is seldom seen. While these technologies have made life easier, they also cause complications every day. A broad spectrum of complications from intrusion of personal privacy to national security can be a by-product of such rapid development. All of these cause disruptions in the current age positive or negative. Reactions to these disruption are the deciding factors to the existence or development of organizations. Adaptability is the key! This is where the youth has an edge. It is defined by flexibility and vitality which is essential to act quickly in the face of change. Through our analysis, we would like to identify the traits that are essential for ensuring sustainability of organizations.

The team will adopt the following methodology: 1. 2. 3. 4. Team will identify situation where organizations had to deal with disruptions The team will study methods used in dealing with situations Traits that led it to success or failure of the organization will be identified Statistical analysis of these traits will be tested (outcome will be the y dependent variable in the equation with all traits acting as variables responsible for the outcome) 5. Uncorrelated traits (groups of traits) with significant impact on the outcome will be identified 6. Then the significance of each trait will be identified Statistical methods used: Factor Analysis and Regression This approach will require study of sufficiently large sample of organizations. We will also include governments in the study as most of them act as corporates. The study will include a range of managerial as well as behavioural traits exhibited by the decision makers of all the affected departments of organizations. For example, we will use variables like average age of organization and also variables like communication to the workforce on the change. We are also aiming to create a predictive model based on the above study (various significant factors involved in decision making during turbulent times) to create a tool to help organizations deal with the turbulent times more effectively.

This would help us provide a very unique & relevant perspective to the problem. We are a bunch of very curious and solution oriented team and between us, we have competed and won many strategy oriented competitions during our PGDM( MBA ).
