Education Fundraising Coordinator Becki Johnston | rebekahcjohnston@gmail.com | 785.218.4740 Raise sufficient funds to cover Dezos nursing school tuition expenses for the next two years (approximately $40,000). Develop a plan and schedule for this fundraising effort. Begin with brainstorming, then for each idea that is identified, evaluate its potential return, and the amount of effort (and expertise) required to make it happen. Decide upon specific efforts to undertake, and a schedule for completion of each effort (ensure sufficient funds have been raised by the time fees are due coordinate with Education Coordinator). Invite (and actively solicit) the broader Lawrence community and sister ABC congregations in the Central Region and beyond in this fundraising effort. Education Coordinator Matt Sturtevant | matt@firstbaptistlawrence.com Assist Dezo with matters related to registration and enrollment. Be aware of when fees related to Dezos education are due (and the amount as well). Communicate this information to the Education Fundraising Coordinator. Ensure fees are paid on time. Congregational Liaison Beth Benfield | bknapik@ku.edu Keep congregation informed of Dezos current situation with regard to education, travel, activities, etc. Use various forms of communication (e.g., weekly newsletter, announcement from pulpit) to ensure all are kept informed. Encourage individuals, families, and small groups to invite/involve/integrate Dezo in their activities and events (e.g., meals, holiday gatherings, circle meetings). When Dezo has specific unmet needs (e.g., transportation), solicit assistance from the congregation. Raise funds to meet Dezos personal daily needs (e.g., personal hygiene products, hair care, bus fare, minor dental/medical expenses). Host Dava and Travis Cooper | davacoop@gmail.com | 785.766.6786 Provide living accommodations and meals for Dezo. Coordinate Dezos transportation needs. Relate to Dezo on a daily basis and identify needs as they arise. Communicate those needs to the other coordinators.

Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind... Job 38.1
This Lenten season, as we open our hearts to God through contemplation and self-examination, we turn to one of the greatest stories in Scripture to invite us to both: Job. The story prods us, confuses us, and invites to ask honest questions about where God is when all we see around us is the whirlwind. As we prepare for Holy Week this year, let us ask together: March 16: How Long? Job 19 March 23: Where Are You? Job 23 March 30: Where Were You? Job 38-42.1-6 April 6: Why? Job 42.7-17
