ABSTRACT

The labour situation of the professionals in Colombia frames in a very competitive market. From Medelln's institutions of upper education centers, each year get graduated in average 135.057 number of people, who are ready to work, these people have needs to do part of the labour system that allows them to generate incomes. In this context it is necessary to recognize the needs of the market, the offer of professionals by areas of the knowledge, and the remuneration average that they obtain. It is so that this essay seeks to show the comparative quantity between the average incomes of the professionals from this city in the last years.

INTRODUCTION

The difference between the remuneration for the professionals depends on the area of the knowledge and the institution that a person comes from. It is so that it's common that the graduated people from private universities could earn more than a person who studied in a public institution. This assay seeks to show the comparative quantity between the average incomes of the professionals from this city in the last years The main objective of this assay is to identify the average income of some professionals in different areas of knowledge in Medelln in the last years. In additionally expected as secondary objectives the followings: 1. To compare the incomes from people who get graduated from public and private Universities and upper education centers. 2. To identify the area that gets into the market in an easier way

ANTECEDENTS

Of the web page of the labor observatory of graduates of Colombia is historical statistical information between the decade from 2001 to 2010 with respect to the profile of graduates by areas of knowledge and the labor situation, in addition to profile information on employability for the last three years.

In accordance with the following graphic, in the last decade get graduated more than 1.620.689 people from different areas of knowledge, so:

The largest number of degrees awarded is concentrated in the area of economy Administration Accounting and related (30.6 % ), followed by the Engineering - Architecture -

Urbanism (23.5 %) and social and human sciences (18.9 % ). The areas of mathematics and natural sciences and of Agronomy - Veterinary related and involved with the 1.6 % and 1.4 % respectively in the total.

Antioquia contributes 13.15 % of the graduates
