i) Determine the oxidation numbers of Cr in Cr2072" and N in N02". ii) Balance the equation above by using ion-electron method. iii) Identify the oxidizing agent and reducing agent. (6 marks)

Consider the titration of 50 mL of 0.40 M NaOH with 0.50 M HCI. i) ii) iii) Calculate the initial pH of NaOH just before the titration start. Calculate the volume of HCI that is required to reach the equivalence point. Sketch the general shape of the titration curve . Label the pH at the starting of the titration, pH at the equivalence point and the volume of HCI at the equivalence point. (5 marks)

Using this equation what is the pressure exerted by 16.3 0 2 in a 15.0 L container at 30C given the gas constant R = 0.0821 L atm mol"1 (4 marks) b) State Dalton's law of partial pressure in words and mathematically. A 1.00 L sample of dry air at 25C contains 0.0319 mol N2, 0.00856 mol 0 2 , 0.000381 mol Ar, and 0.00002 mol C0 2 . Calculate the partial pressure of each of the gas in the mixture. What is the total pressure exerted by all the gases in the sample (6 marks) A compound that only contains nitrogen and oxygen 30.4% N by mass; the molar mass of the compound is 92 g/mol. Determine the empirical and molecular formulas of the compound. (5 marks)
