Learning Disability Today is working in association with Sheffield City Council to produce this annual regional exhibition and conference.
The day of seminars and an exhibition share the regions good practice, to help you to deliver services that improve the lives of people with learning disabilities.
Learning Disability Today provides a great opportunity to show case good practice in giving people choice and control over their lives. It also provides a forum to challenge, for example, poor quality healthcare for people with a learning disability and to promote the powerful messages from Death by Indifference. Showcasing innovative projects and organisations that extend choice and control for people with learning disabilities, across all areas of their lives.

The seminars
The CPD seminar programme has been designed to:

 evelop services that respond to local needs D Providing a focus on current national objectives and how they can be translated and implemented - to provide high quality services that meet the needs of people with learning disabilities living in your region. Be inclusive When we plan our programme for Learning Disability Today we include everyone. Each seminar session provides a full range of opinions from experts and professionals, people with learning disabilities and their families.

Post-Winterbourne progress check Implications of the Care Bill Responding positively to funding restrictions ASD services: access and integration Hate crime Housing: What is available, how to access it and how to keep it local Health: Accessing primary care services, and mental health services Safeguarding: Working together to reduce risk Advocacy: Working with groups and self-advocacy Transition: Accessing education and employment, housing, and your social life Initiatives to promote well-being Building resilient and inclusive communities

Established in 2001, Learning Disability Today is a national event thats on in London each year. We are delighted to be returning to Sheffield. Heres some feedback from visitors to the last event.
