ABSTRACT

This study focuses on the development of BUILDING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR LGUs USING ANDROID WI-TECH that provides an on-line access to electrical systems of the Local Government Office. The system can turn off and on the electrical system using an android phone with an internet connection. To achieve the objectives of the study, several methods and techniques in developing an efficient system were employed. The study utilized development research designs to simulate and explain various conditions that may affect the achievement of the objectives of the study. In designing the system the following were taken into considerations: Analysis of the existing system, Identification of the general requirements for the system and consideration of the restrictions. The following software requirements were carefully studied in order to come up with the Building Management System for LGUsUsing Android Wi-Tech.(1) Android (OS), (2) Arduino IDE (C++ Programming language), (3) Eclipse IDE(Java Programming Language),(4) Google App Engine (Web server), (5) Nimbits (Cloud Service Platform). The waterfall model was employed because it is a linear-sequential life cycle model and very simple to understand and use. Several test trials were conducted on the developed system to come up with hardware and software requirements of the system. The respondents evaluated the system as good in terms of functionality (4.31), reliability (4.2), efficiency and effectiveness (4.34), maintainability (4.22), portability (4.28). Overall, the respondents evaluated the system good (4.27).
