Position Paper for the United Nations Trusteeship Council The Issue before the United Nations Trusteeship Council is the Criteria for Statehood with Focus on Palestine, The Kurdish Question i.e. wars, international intervention etc. & Boko Haram in Northern Nigeria. Tanzania, understands that the United Nations is an intergovernmental organization of sovereign states founded by 51 founding members towards the end of the Second World War. Tanzania fully supports the conference report that was established September, 2003 by the former United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annans address, To stop and reflect on the challenges facing the world in this new century.(Annan, 2 003) With that being said, the vision and mission of Tanzania, is a society committed to social, economic and environmental sustainability through participatory governance and to improve the quality of life of marginalized communities through effective governance that guides social, economic and environmental sustainability. Tanzania is a multi-party democracy system. Therefore, this nation fully believes that ethics and equilibrium are key ingredients to peace. Tanzania is deeply concerned, with the statehood of Palestine and the economic blockades against the Palestinians. Tanzania strongly recognizes that people of one state should not be deprived of their own means of development and subsistence as a result of political decision made by other States. Tanzania fully supports that member States should be coherent with international law and for member States to identify policy gaps affecting their citizens and to inaugurate a solution such as a 2-state solution that will be mandated through its own governance.

Tanzania is aware that Boko Haram in Northern Nigeria is a term use to express certain hatred and rejection of Western culture and education to people in Northern Nigeria. However, the concern of transitional terrorism i.e. a terrorist organization exporting its form of mayhem from one state to another and the efforts to control the spread of crime, hate, and mayhem is a grave concern for Nigeria and their foreign policy. Tanzania is fully aware and is concerned with the widespread and systematic attacks that have resulted in the killing of more than 2,000 people of all faiths. Furthermore, the scale and amount of the attacks have increased over time. With the high rise of poverty in Nigeria which amounted to more than 80% has caused uproar which resulted to crimes and terrorist acts. Tanzania seeks to endorse a plan of action with Nigeria and the United Nations Member States to immediately establish a dialogue with Boko Haram leaders, reverse the figures of poverty, corruption, and establish a fiduciary with its people. The delegation strongly recognizes that a political decision must be made by the U.N. Security Council, Human Rights Council, and International Criminal Court, because of the failure of broken treaties to resolve the mayhem in the sovereign nations of Palestine, Israel, Kurdistan, and Nigeria which are resulting to more excess death and the violations of international law. Tanzania has a high interest in indorsing universal cooperation to all member states for the establishment of a free democratic world. Tanzania would like to acknowledge its gratefulness and honor towards the Trusteeship Council and aspires a prosperous accomplishment towards committee.
