Paris High School and Junior High Daily Announcements March 5, 2014 HIGH SCHOOL:

There is a required student council meeting after school TODAY. There will be food available. Chad Rizner will be here to discuss district meeting. Congrats to all conference boys basketball players: Brant Francis-First Team, Zane Lockhart and Slater StoneHonorable Mention SENIORS: Bring 5 pictures to Mr. Freitag for the senior slide show by April 4 . Also any group pictures you want added. HS boys basketball meeting Monday during intervention in Mr. Billingtons room. Winter sports banquet will be Tuesday, March 18 at 6:30 pm in the HS gym. Each family is asked to bring two dishes. This year's CTA senior-faculty games are scheduled for Monday, March 17. Seniors - plan to sign up to play basketball or volleyball against teachers and other school personnel. Each senior should also plan to bring 1-2 items to donate to the cake walk. This event funds the CTA scholarship for a senior entering the field of education. Hope to see everyone there participating! Mexico High School is hosting an ACT Prep Seminar through ZAPS Learning Company here at Mexico on Monday, March 10 from 9:00 to 3:00. It is $79 and students can register at www.zaps.com or call 877-927-8378. We have used this company for years and the students have always had lots of positive things to say about it. You can read more about it on the website. Attention FBLA members--Our March FBLA meeting will be Thursday, March 6, at 7:15 AM. We will recognize Nic Thomas--our "Outstanding Member of the Year" and all our members who just recently completed their BAA awards; Future: Ben Ebbesmeyer and Russell Mitchell; Business: Jon Turner and Abbie Wheelan; America: Teddy Ebbesmeyer, Bryce Ensor, Katie Otto, and Danielle Wheelan Our guest speaker will be Mr. Willingham. We have rescheduled our field trip to May (maybe it will be warmer). To be eligible to attend the field trip, you must attend at least two of our next three events--the March meeting, the April meeting, and the Spring Banquet. Of course we will have donuts and juice. THANK YOU PARIS HIGH SCHOOL--you helped our FBLA raised over $100 to donate to the March of Dimes. Wednesday all freshmen will meet in the library during intervention. th Thursday all 7 graders will meet in the JH computer lab during intervention.

State Park Youth Corps Program for young people 17 though 23 years of age. This will provide an opportunity for youth to work at local state parks this summer. Our local slots are very limited at this time but the website is now open and the application is live. The web address and all the applicant information and job descriptions are available at http://thinkoutside.mo.gov April 12th ACT registration deadline is Friday, March 7. This is the last test date in Paris this school year. See Mrs. Youse if you need help in doing so. Students interested in attending Hart Career Center in the fall, Mrs. Youse will be taking students on a tour on Wednesday, March 12. If you would like to travel to Mexico to see their campus come see her for a permission slip. All permission slips must be returned by Friday, March 7. ALL STUDENTS: Pick up info for Miss Paris and Jr. Miss Paris from Ms. Otto. Forms are due back on March 7th to Ms. Otto. There will not be a 7-12 FCA planning meeting in March. Remember huddle meetings with devotion and breakfast Wednesday mornings; everyone is welcome. Junior high huddle each Thursday intervention.
