Dhaka Power Distribution Company Ltd. (DPDC), entrusted with the responsibility of operation, maintenance and
development of the power system network within the geographical area of DPDC, invites applications from
energetic and promising citizens of Bangladesh for appointment to the following posts on contract basis for a
period of maximum 03 (three) years at a time (inclusive of 01 year probationary period) which is renewable up to
the age of 60 years subject to satisfactory performance against specific yearly targets to be set by the Board.
1. Assistant Engineer (number of posts 33)

1.1 The Assistant Engineer is an entry level post of the company in the functional area titled Engineering,
primarily engaged in assisting distribution management, manage functions pertaining to operations and
maintenance of sub-stations, distribution lines, load management, consumer connections, commercial
activities, planning, design, development and preparation of project profiles for the electrical network
system etc.; reporting to the Executive Engineer. He/ She will work under the direct supervision of
Executive Engineer in achieving the targets of DPDC (e.g. distribution quality, revenue etc.).

1.2 Required Qualification:

Candidates must be a graduate Engineer in Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics/ Electrical, Electronic &
Communication/ Electronics & Communication/Electronic& Telecommunication/ Computer Science &
Engineering/ Information & Communication Engineering/ Mechanical/ Electro-Mechanical
/Architecture/Environmental Engineering/Civil & Environmental Engineering/ Disaster & Environment
Engineering/ Material& Metallurgical from a recognized university. Candidates must have all first divisions/
classes or CGPA 4 or above in the scale of 5 and CGPA 3 or above in the scale of 4 in educational life
(SSC to Graduation). The candidate should also be fluent in spoken and written Bangla and English
languages, and should be capable of working in challenging situation.
1.3 Remuneration/Compensation Package:


Basic salary per month Taka 29,000.00 (Twenty Nine Thousand) only plus house rent @ 60% of basic
per month, two festival bonuses in year, contributory provident fund, group insurance, encashment of
leave, gratuity as per applicable rules of the company. Expenses at actual medical services as mentioned
in the company Service Rules will be reimbursed up to a maximum limit of two (2) months basic salary
per annum, and transport allowances will be provided as per company policy. Income tax shall have to be
paid by the employee.

2. Age should not be more than thirty two (32) years on 01.01.2014. However, maximum age limit may be relaxed
for suitable internal candidate but no 3rd division/ class or CGPA below 3.5 in the scale of 5 and CGPA 2.5 in
the scale of 4 in educational life will be eligible.
3. Those that have recently appeared in the examination and yet to get their degree, need not apply for the
position.

6. Persuasion of any kind will disqualify the candidate. The authority reserves the right to accept or reject any
application as it may seem proper and no explanation for such action will be provided to the applicant.
7. Quota (30%) for freedom fighter, son/daughter of freedom fighter, grand son/ grand daughter of freedom fighter
will be followed during the recruitment process. This quota will be filled from merit group in case of
unavailability of qualified candidates /successful candidates during the recruitment process.
