If you are given a ticket to contest Lok Sabha elections by the Aam Aadmi Party from New Delhi, would you contest leaving behind your IAS dream? Give a reasoned explanation.

As a determined civil service aspirant I should never get the idea of joining a political party let it be AAM AADMI or any other. Understanding civil services would however eliminate the thought in the beginning itself but lets consider and analyze in depth to clear all the gloomy shadows .Lets see the respective roles played by the politician and IAS officers and how important they are in respective roles and then decide the role to perform. We see many people to consider an IAS officer is below no one and he taking a order from a politician would seem to be abuse of power by a politician .Also there are people who see this abuse by the officers. So who has got the powers and who is above whom and who is abusing the other. Indian constitution has laid a great responsibility in three wings of the governance Parliament, Judiciary and the Executive. Of course Indian system is not a water tight model in separation of powers like the US but it is robust in its functioning .Robust is the word because it has achieved a lot unlike the predictions by many constitutional experts from different countries. The role of the Parliament is of a massive proportion but the role of the executive remains only second to it. So as a citizen of this country one should see Parliament as a exemplary institution which derived its status and power by the Constitution. The politicians who are part of both the parliament and the executive play a very important role in the functioning of the government. The bureaucratic executive rolls out the policies and also find a major role in the administration of the state. With this basic understanding of the roles I would choose my role as a civil servant and try to give my set of ideological thoughts in my decision. Yes, given the present scenario of Delhi politics it is imperative that choosing a role in the reformation of Delhi politics is a natural choice with a promising career. I agree with the decision only with some apprehensions.AAM AADMI party is led by a former civil servant and the way he sees it should be a unavoidable decision to start over with the new role. But as a mere graduate and a young Indian I see the role of civil servant very challenging and that could deliver me and this country with some fruitful results .I say that I have a guarantee here but I dont mean I can never be hindered in the administration of the state. Obstacles come as a thorn in the life but one needs to thrash out and make the way for myself and the followers. Also now SC ruling that Civil servants cannot be made scapegoats to politicians deeds and providing them with a new board to oversee the transfers made enough room for the civil servants to start over a new and honest journey with little political hindrances.

Now analyzing at the core I have decided to take up this career only to see some light in the people of my district where everything has been done expect development. I definitely see regionalism as against to the nationalism but only if it is obsessive. Gandhiji said Be the change you want to see in this world. Thats where the logic lies. If every citizen can develop themselves and stat developing their surroundings then that would be known as a real inclusive development what the entire political executive wanted to see. So being a better individual who has made his mind to give something in return to the vey society where he has grown up I would take all my chances in fulfilling my dream to be a civil servant. Now comes a question being a politician cant one be a part of this inclusive development .Certainly yes but the very fundamental changes in the society can be seen only if a civil servant is seen acting accordingly. As education lies as one of the key factors in the development of the society the civil servant has a better role to play if not every progressive role. So I want to be in this progressive role but not where political ideology had failed not once but for many times in the country. Lets plan for the common minimum development is my idea of joining civil services. Next comes in line good sanitation, food security, transportation, competent business culture and a overall happiness of the society. For these things Political executive always had opportunities but the chances were all not up to the mark. But civil servants with a strong mechanism to fulfill the needs of the society and also to punish their ill deeds have less chances of failure. Politicians as I said are always above bureaucrats and thats what everyone needs to understand and not befool them for their power over bureaucrats because as a bureaucrat I would never see the politician as an individual but one who represents the millions of the people .So working under a politician should never be a problem but of great service to the nation. I would finally mention that I would never get the idea of joining AAM AADMI party or any other as I made up my mind to get into the grassroots of this village and take up a bottom up approach by building a strong foundations in the children of next generation ,providing ample opportunities to develop for the present generation and take care of the health of the older generations and make them feel that The change has come .Then THE AAM AADMI PARTY or any other would have only work of formulate policies towards only development as any other direction would make the reformed society of their illnatured ideology.
