Ths s a tradton that began n the eary 90s usng a
recpe from a sma bakery n Atanta. A of the
cookes - whch wegh n at an mpressve two ounces
each - are baked fresh every day on the hote premses.
Raves for the cookes from customers convnced the hote
chan to start seng the chocoaty munchabes by the
haf-dozen. But f you've got an nsatabe chocoate
chp cooke urge that can't wat for a package to be devered
n the ma, you' want to try ths coned verson fresh out
of your home oven. |ust be sure to get the cookes out of
there when they are turnng ght brown. Ths way they'
stay soft n the mdde when coo. For even better resuts,
you can ch the dough overnght before you commence wth
the ceremona bakng.
1/2 cup roed oats
2 1/4 cups a-purpose four
1 1/2 teaspoons bakng soda
1 teaspoon sat
1/4 teaspoon cnnamon
1 cup (2 stcks) butter, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
3/4 cup granuated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vana
1/2 teaspoon emon |uce
2 eggs
3 cups sem-sweet chocoate chps
1 1/2 cups chopped wanuts
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Grnd oats n a food processor or bender unt fne. Combne
the ground oats wth the four, bakng soda, sat, and cnnamon
n a medum bow.
3. Cream together the butter, sugars, vana, and emon |uce n
another medum bow wth an eectrc mxer. Add the eggs and mx
unt smooth.
4. Str the dry mxture nto the wet mxture and bend we. Add
the chocoate chps and nuts to the dough and mx by hand unt
ngredents are we ncorporated.
5. Spoon rounded 1/4-cup portons onto an ungreased cooke sheet.
Pace the scoops about 2 nches apart. You don't need to press
the dough fat. Bake for 16 to 18 mnutes or unt cookes are
ght brown and soft n the mdde. Store n a seaed contaner
when coo to keep soft. For the best resuts, ch the dough
overnght n the refrgerator before bakng the cookes.

5 oz Graham cracker crumbs

5 tb Butter meted

16 oz Cream cheese softened
1/2 c Sugar
1/2 ts Vana

3 tb Chambord queur
Toppng:
8 oz Sour cream
1 tb Sugar
1/2 ts Vana
1 tb Chambord queur
1 c Raspberres fresh
Preheat oven to 350 Deg. F. To prepare crust, mx graham cracker
crumbs, sugar and butter. Press mxture frmy nto bottom of 9"
sprngform pan.
To make fng, mx cream cheese, sugar, vana, and sat at
medum speed wth eectrc mxer. Add eggs, and mx unt we
bended. Usng a fork, genty fod Chambord nto batter. Pour
mxture nto crust.
Bake for approxmatey 40 mnutes or unt goden brown. Loosen
cake from rm of pan. Let coo and remove rm of pan.
To prepare toppng, mx sour cream, sugar, vana, and Chambord
and spread eveny over cheesecake. Refrgerate for 4 hours or
unt frm. Top wth fresh raspberres |ust before servng.

recpe, we' make the cakes from scratch. Ths w
hep us to create a favor and texture cosest to the
orgna, athough the coor w be much ghter than
the rea thng (the mraces of food coorng). But f
you're feeng especay azy, you can certany use a
dev's food cake mx n pace of the scratch recpe here.
|ust make the fng wth the recpe beow and assembe
your cakes the same way.
Cake
1 egg
1/2 cup shortenng
1 1/4 cups granuated sugar
1 cup mk
1 teaspoon vana
2 1/3 cups a-purpose four
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 teaspoon sat
1/2 teaspoon bakng powder

2 cups marshmaow creme (1 7-ounce |ar)
1 cup shortenng
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vana
1/8 teaspoon sat
2 teaspoons very hot water
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. In a medum bow, bend together the egg, shortenng,
and sugar wth an eectrc mxer. Contnue beatng whe
addng the mk and vana.
3. In another bow sft together remanng cake ngredents -
four, cocoa, sat, and bakng powder.
4. Combne the dry ngredents wth the wet ngredents and beat
unt smooth.
5. Spoon about a tabespoon of the batter n strps about 4 nches
ong and 1 nch wde on a ghty greased cooke sheet. Bake for
5 to 6 mnutes or unt the cakes are done. Coo.
6. In another bow combne the marshmaow creme, shortenng,
powdered sugar and vana. Dssove the 1/8 teaspoon of sat
n the 2 teaspoons of very hot water n a sma bow. Add ths
sat souton to the fng mxture and beat on hgh speed wth

7. When the cakes have cooed, spread about a tabespoon of
fng on the face of one cake and top t off wth another cake.
Repeat wth the remanng ngredents.
Makes 20 to 24 snack cakes.

*Note- Chcken breasts shoud be cooked and shredded. Avocado, peeed,

chpote and bay eaf n stockpot. Season to taste wth sat and whte
pepper. Brng to bo. Smmer 15 mnutes.
Add shredded chcken, tomatoes, red onon and cantro. Brng to bo.
Smmer 5 mnutes. Ad|ust seasonngs to taste. Lade very hot soup nto
warm soup bows. Drop n cheese cubes. Garnsh each servng wth a few
torta strps, avocado sces, me sce and cantro sprg. Makes
about 1 quart.

four and can be found wth the four n most supermarkets. It's the four
to use for corn tortas. The recpe doubes easy and turns out we wth

Pace butter and shortenng n mxer bow and whp unt soft; contnue
whppng unt fuffy and creamy. Add masa graduay whe mxng; add water
graduay and mx thoroughy.
Pace corn kernes n bender or food processor ftted wth meta bade;
coarsey chop. Str nto the masa harna. Pace (reguar) cornmea, sugar,
whppng cream, bakng powder and sat n arge mxng bow; mx qucky.
Add masa mxture and mx ghty, |ust unt bended. Pour nto greased
8-nch-square bakng pan. Cover wth fo.
Method 1: Bake n 350-degree oven 40 to 50 mnutes or unt corn cake has a
frm texture.
Method 2: Pace pan n a arger pan and pour bong water haf way up corn
cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees 40 to 50 mnutes, checkng water eve and
addng more bong water, f necessary. When cooked through, remove corn
cake pan from water.
Let cooked cake stand at room temperature for few mnutes before cuttng
nto squares or usng a sma ce cream scoop to serve.
Makes 10 to 12 sma servngs. Store eftovers n the refrgerator.
