ZigBee technology in Agriculture

ZigBee is the name of a specification for a suit of high level communication protocols using small, low-power digital radios based on the IEEE 802.15.4 standard for wireless personal area network (WPANs). This seminar brings to light the technology behind Zigbee which is a low-cost, lowpower, wireless mesh networking standard. The low cost allows the technology to be widely deployed in wireless control and monitoring applications, the low power-usage allows longer life with smaller batteries, and the mesh networking provides high reliability and larger range. As a brand-new information acquisition and the processing technology, the ZigBee has seeped gradually into the agricultural environmental monitoring domain. The main objective of this seminar is to highlight the basic architecture of Zigbee, modes of addressing: - direct addressing, indirect addressing and broadcast addressing. Emphasis is also given to the types of Zigbee devices: - Zigbee coordinator, Zigbee router and End devices, then different network layer: - star topology, tree topology & mesh topology and implementation in agriculture field. I would like to focus the attention on the significant design of Zigbee in intelligent monitoring system for agriculture, Zigbee based wireless sensor network in agriculture for precision farming and other aspects of Zigbee in field of agriculture, the topic also include the further application Zigbee application in agriculture and future aspeccts, scope and application.

The Key concepts to be focused are: Technological Overview Basic architecture Modes of addressing Types of devices Network Topology Implementation in agriculture Design of Zigbee in intelligent monitoring system for agriculture ZigBee based wireless sensor networks in agriculture ZigBee application in agriculture Further scope and application
