A Semi - Detailed Lesson Plan in English III


Date: January 20, 2014 (4 Sessions) Year and Section: Third Year (Athena, Artemis & Aphrodite) I. Specific Learning Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to: recall the different rules on subject verb agreement; analyze sentences through their previous knowledge of the rules on subject verb agreement; construct grammatically correct sentences; and, show honesty and discipline throughout the class discussion.

B. Motivation BRAIN TEASERS o The teacher will present three questions / brain teasers to the class. Turn the word triangle into a word for a four sided space or courtyard. (QUADRANGLE) WEEK : MONTH : YEAR: (DECADE) Spell the plural of yourself. (Y-O-U-R-S-E-L-V-ES) SENTENCE ANALYSIS o The teacher will present a sentence (The dishes in the kitchen is dirty.) and she will ask the students whether the said sentence is correct or not.

C. Presentation After analyzing the sentence, the teacher will proceed on the recall of the rules on subject- verb agreement. The teacher will give the rules on subject verb agreement and examples of sentences which the students will analyze.

IV. Evaluation The students will be asked to answer a short activity on subject verb agreement.
