VS.

Love is in the air but does it matter if it starts in the online or offline world??? THE month of love is fast coming to an end. Both Valentines Day and Chap Goh Meh, the festive of love and relationship (Explanation of terms), are over but the debate on online versus traditional (context) relationships keeps on (synonym) going. Many arguments have been made for both sides. Because (familiar conjunction) digital technology is relatively new phenomenon, the main question asked is whether online relationships can work as well as the traditional ones (paraphrase). On one hand, there have been many stories of people who have formed successful relationships after meeting online, with some ending in marriage (meaning of idiom). On the other (clear contrast), online relationships that failed are not because the couple lack compatibility but due to their deceit (redundancy). However, the argument over the years havent changed that much. The critics describe online relationships as short-termed (simpler term). Moreover, the anonymity and distance also

could cause to the online relationships downfall (paraphrase & compress). It allows people who wouldnt normally meet to know each other, making them to find like-minded people in social networks. The truth is that both sides are not wrong, in my humble opinion (Initialism). There are enough evidences to support both arguments. The debate is due to the fact that our online and offline lives are two separate entities; therefore, one can be better than the other. However, relationships do not operate in isolation. Even if you met your partner offline, youd still be communicating via digital technologies. And it can also happen the other way around. (Compressing into one/vice versa) This is no difference than how relationships used to operate. Back in the days, many people partnered through telephone and calls, which is not that different from sending electronic messages through online. The only difference there is the speed of the communication occurring. (Comparison of points) In this context, the debate on which relationship is better online or offline is still a subject of uncertainty (Advanced vocabulary/synonym). What really matter are the other factors (synonym) that can affect relationships, and they are not dependent on technology or the absent of it.
