EMS Audit, Introduction to EMS software Life Cycle Assessment (LCA): Philosophy, Framework for LCA, ISO and SETAC, Goal and Scope definition, Inventory Analysis, Impact assessment, Classification, Characterization, Valuation, Improvement Analysis, LCA software, Examining LCA case studies. Design for environment: Significance, Business perspective, Strategies for design for environment, Roadmap for implementing ecodesign, examining ecodesign case studies, Ecolabelling, Extended Producer responsibility (EPR), International trade, European Union and other directives arising from EPR, Impact on Indian industry. Green marketing, innovation and new product development Environmentally conscious supply chains: concept, eco-procurement, reverse logistics, transport, packaging, etc. Energy management. Sustainable development: social, environmental and economic dimensions, corporate social responsibility, sustainability assessment of an industry, environmental indicators, measurement and success stories. 2. Each class will have a presentation cum discussion of 60-75 minutes followed by group/individual exercises, discussions, case studies etc. for the next 45 mins.
