Principals Report
On Monday 17th February, staff at Warragul North Primary School spent the day learning with Michael Ymer, a highly regarded Mathematics Consultant. As Mathematics is a main focus for 2014 at Warragul North Primary School staff will be able to use the knowledge learnt from Michael Ymer to plan their Mathematics program and teaching for 2014 effectively.
Our next professional learning day will be based on John Hatties research called Visible Learning. It will be held on Tuesday 22nd April, 2014, which is the first day of Term Two. Continued on page 2.
NEXT ASSEMBLY
Our next whole school assembly is on Friday 28th February.

School Captains
Molly Francis
My name is Molly Francis and I am both honoured and thrilled to be the female School Captain for 2014. Warragul North Primary School is such a great school with wonderful opportunities for all of us. I love swimming and am a member of the Warragul Swimming Club (which keeps me very busy!) and I also enjoy acting, reading and playing piano - all of these things were introduced to me at WNPS. Two more of my favourite things are chocolate and One Direction! Being School Captain is a big responsibility, it requires a lot of commitment and hard work but it is something I have wanted to achieve for many years as I know I will learn so much and have so many great opportunities before I leave for high school. I am a friendly and honest person and I go to school every day with a smile on my face so if you see me in the playground please come over if you want a chat!
Finn Dowty
My name is Finn Dowty and I am this years male School Captain. I am honoured and eager to take on this role at Warragul North Primary School for 2014. I am very excited about representing the school this year on important occasions such as the ANZAC Day service and Remembrance Day ceremony. I am also really looking forward to taking visitors on school tours, and being a compere at the Junior School Concert. The things that I love doing most are footy, tennis, swimming, fishing, ice hockey and travelling. I am very proud and delighted to be School Captain this year at Warragul North Primary School. I will try as hard as I possibly can to make others proud and to make the school an even better place to be.
Pictured above are Warragul North Primary School out of school hours care students enjoying the party.
The Aussie of the Month program is a great way to recognise school students achievement - without them having to win a race or sit an exam. It is designed to encourage children to be proud of themselves, their school and to understand the responsibilities and rewards of community participation. During 2014 staff at Warragul North Primary School has agreed to regularly bestow this honour on a student.
