The Common Core may not include writing letters correctly for Kindergarten students. I feel they need to learn the correct way to write while they are learning their letters. Each letter of the alphabet has two pages. One is a color and trace page to use after the teacher models writing the letter. The next page is just practice. Students have a visual to show the correct way to write each letter. Students trace each letter on the dotted lines and then write their own letters carefully. There is an award included in this packet to be given when students meet these expectations. The Letter Cards can be used in centers as students learn to recognize and write their letters! I Can Write My Letters Correctly!

The next 12 pages are Letter Writing cards. Print out and laminate or place in protective sleeve. (Cut between the black lines so you will have a nice border for the letters.) Have students practice tracing the proper way to write each letter with their fingers. When students have practiced, give them a small cookie sheet filled with sand and let them trace the letters in the sand. Make sure they are tracing the letters correctly. Too many students never learn the correct way to write letters. I am sure you can think of other fun ways students can use these cards! Pam
