Description Centrilift has been an industry leader in handling gas with electric submersible pumping (ESP) systems.

Centrilift introduced the first rotary gas separator for oilfield applications in 1978 and Centrilift gas separators are the perfect complement to the downhole pump when large amounts of gas must to be separated from the well fluid before it enters the pump. Centrilift manufactures two distinct types of gas separators: The Rotary Chamber type, which separates gaseous and liquid phases through pure centrifugal force, and the Vortex Chamber type in which centrifugal force in a vortex achieves separation of gassy fluids. Both designs are unsurpassed in the ESP industry. The Rotary Chamber separator works by passing fluid through a rotating chamber, which acts as an enclosed centrifuge forcing the denser liquid to the outer diameter and leaving the lighter gas in the center. At the end of the chamber the gas is channeled back into the casing annulus. This design produces the highest possible separating force and is a superior solution when good separating efficiency is required and in cases where highly viscous fluids are produced. The Vortex separator uses a short inducer to produce a rotary motion to separate the two phases of a gassy fluid. The speed of fluid rotation is lower than with the rotary chamber design and the fluid is allowed to rotate freely in the full diameter of the separation area. As a vortex forms, the less dense gas-filled fluid is forced to the center and then channeled back into the casing annulus. The Vortex works well over a wide range of flow rates and the slower rotation and the reduced rotating or inertial mass make it preferable when abrasives are a factor. Centrilift offers gas separators for all the most commonly used pump series: 338, 400, 513, 538 and 675. In 2005, Centrilift introduced the GasMaster separator in 400 and 538 series. View Characteristics of Centrilift gas separators. Coalbed Methane The Centrilift gas separator has become a CBM industry standard. The rotary chamber separators pass fluid through a rotating chamber, which acts as an enclosed centrifuge, forcing the denser liquid to the outer diameter and leaving the lighter gas in the center. The gas is channeled back into the casing annulus. The use of the gas separator increases drawdown capabilities of ESP systems and provides additional separation of entrained gas in the well fluids.

Features and Benefits

Prevents deterioration of the pressure-head-capacity performance of the pump. Avoids motor load fluctuations due to cycling caused by severe gas interference. Exclusive shrouded rotor design (rotary option) extends well life. Best-in-Class abrasive protection options available.

Uses state-of-the-art materials to mitigate the destructive effects of harsh environments. Each Centrilift gas separator is submitted to a rigorous quality procedure before and during assembly.

Family Series Series 400GS 538GS Description Maximizes production from multi-phase fluid wells Maximizes production from multi-phase fluid wells

Series Overview - 400GS

Description Centrilift has once again pioneered new gas handling technology with the GasMaster high volume rotary/vortex gas separator. Historically, multi-phase fluid wells have been challenging for electrical submersible pump (ESP) systems. Centrilift leads the industry with innovative technology designed to maximize production from wells with high free gas content. GasMaster is an extensively researched and tested gas separator design that raises the total flow rate through the separator into the pump while providing improved separation efficiency. The new Centrilift High Angle Vane Auger (HAVA) design, along with redesigned intake and discharge head assemblies for improved efficiency and reliability, are the keys for enhanced gas handling/providing higher two phase fluid flow and pressure increase. Higher pressure in the gas separator chamber provides more energy to push higher volumes of gas out into the well annulus, eliminating gas locking and extending the application range of ESP systems in multi-phase fluid wells. Available Models GasMaster is available in rotary chamber or Vortex options and high/low flow options to better fit specific well applications. GasMaster is also available with three abrasion protection levels (options), providing the most wear resistant separator in the industry.

Features and Benefits

Extends ESP application limits in high gas environments. Higher separation efficiencies at higher production rates. Flow passageways optimized for maximum capacity and minimum wear. Field proven tungsten carbide bearings and hardened surfaces increase

protection in abrasive environments. New Centrilift proprietary abrasive resistant coating, and additional hardened liners available for severe applications. Increased shaft horsepower capability.
