Reflection Day 3 I started off my third day of SBE by observing a year 3 class.

Actually, the atmosphere of being in a year 3 class is totally different from the previous ones. The students were more responsive and were very excited to learn more and give their opinions on certain matters. For example, some of the students volunteered to write out the answers on the whiteboard using i-think map. Such attitude demonstrated by the students can actually boost your confidence as a future teacher and helps to promote the learning culture. Incorporating student-centered learning techniques into daily lessons are equally important as this a llows the students voices to be heard. Giving them the freedom to express their thoughts and knowledge with certain understandable boundaries will definitely speed up the learning process and thus lead them to improve on their results. Furthermore, by rewarding students with words of appraisal, they would definitely appreciate them. Praises are valuable not only for increasing the motivation of the learners but also building their self-confidence. Since many learners are shy when they try to pronounce new language points, praising them with expressions like ''well done, good try, I believe that you can do'' and etc'' encourages students. As a result, students become more willing to learn and participate in the lessons. Moreover, praises helps us establishing a good classroom management. If we praises naughty students' positive behaviour, I mean if we ignore their misbehavior and address their good behavior, we can change their attitudes towards our lessons. Accepting the good and shunning the bad would be the ideal practice in every learning institution. We should also be careful when we praise students. We should keep cultural aspects in mind and respect different beliefs and lifestyles so that we do not insult anyone for the sake of others.

On top of that, I got the opportunity to relieve another year 3 class after recess from 10:10am to 11am. By merging arts and language together, we have the Language Arts subject. It was a great joy to see students playing with colours and words. Besides, some of the students did ask for my assistance in spelling some peculiar words of animals. From my observation, I got to know that colours seem to have a very strong impact on their learning and thinking process. Students normally associate words of animals with colours, referring to their original colours in physical form. Indeed, it was a whole new experience for me seeing students liking their own work and proudly showing them off to me. Luckily, I managed to take pictures of them, throughout the process of drawing, writing and colouring and not forgetting in groups. Moreover, I am deeply moved by the teachers dedication and passion to see their students excel as a whole. Before day 3 ended, my colleagues and I managed to spend some time with the schools Head of Department conducting a Q&A session. Questioning on almost every aspect that made this school a worthy competitor and a role model at the same time was indeed a quest for me to find out to ease my curiosity. Comprehensively, the success of the school does not depend on the performance of students alone, yet it involves the active participation of parents to work hand-in-hand with teachers to produce a conducive, healthy and optimal teaching and learning environment.
