On January 6, 2013, when we met for our first worship service our common ground was in Jesus Christ. We were looking for a place of refuge from the world in which we could get a message from God through His Word. Our gatherings and approach to God was kept intentionally simple come together as believers in the Lord hear His Word go to live out our faith in the arenas of life, touching people with the love of our great God. The simplicity of our approach remains centered on God. However the manner in which we go about fulfilling Gods call on us as a congregation is still being defined (and will always be in process!!). There are two efforts underway today. The first is the delegation of responsibility. Areas of service are continuing to be spread among people of the congregation. Our Church Leadership Team (CLT) is seeking participation in the following areas - audio-visual, building and grounds, fellowship, finance, music, outreach, worship and evangelism, youth). Sign-ups are going on - you can sign up on Sunday or contact Melissa Blanchard (336-447-4364) (gibsonvillegirl05@yahoo.com) The second enhancement is an expansion of ministry to people of the congregation. A Mens Fellowship is being formed. All who are interested can put a note in the suggestion box at The Venue. If you have suggestions about other ministries your comments are welcomed. Through the process of defining our identity I am remaining focused on two things studying to preach and teach the Word of God serving as a pastor to the congregation, offering you spiritual support in the challenges you face. I am confident my leadership role in music will be filled by a person of Gods choosing in the near future. I desire to be involved in our music, but I am not gifted in leading this important ministry of the church. As our identity continues to be defined we will keep a simple approach which is centered on God. I encourage you to remain committed to spiritual disciplines read and study Gods Word pray fellowship with other believers make your faith known by showing the love of God. Pastor Reid
