1 General
The Fc375 tool offers a huge amount of possibilities to device diagnostics as well as device configurations. This paper describes the necessary steps, to configure the Transmitter T53.10 with FC375 Version 1.8. It will show you some additional information which could be helpful in some special applications. More information regarding to the configuration properties of the T53 in general can be found in the Configuration Manual for FOUNDATION fieldbus.

2 Requirements (Hardware and Software)

Following Hardware is required to build a FOUNDATION fieldbus network: x FC375 inkl. DD of the T53.10 x x x x Power Conditioner (Establish the FF network) Power supply for the Power Conditioner T53.10 Cable

3.2.1

Short Description of the different Blocks: Define a hardware specific characteristics of the function block applications Contains all of the manufacturer-specific parameters that define how the T53 Transmitter functions. Selections such as setting of input type, engineering units, defining the dual functionality when using the dual input, and so forth, are performed Generates a customer specific linear interpolation linearization The Block is private and reserved. takes the manufacturers input data, selected by channel number, and makes it available to other function blocks at its output is key to many control schemes

4 Noticeable troubles
4.1 Connection Error ERROR Connection Error This will only happen, if the connectors on the FC375 for HART were used for a FOUNDATION fieldbus application. Solution: Change the connectors of the FC375 from HART to FOUNDATION fieldbus

4.2

Warning Polarity reversed

WARNING Connection Error This will happen, if the polarity of the FOUNDATION fieldbus connection is wrong. Solution: Change the polarity of the FC375 connection on the FOUNDATION fieldbus segment.

5 Easy Upgrade - Import the DD into the FC375

To add Device Descriptions (DDs) or system software upgrades you will need to have a System Card with the Easy Upgrade option. The Easy Upgrade Option is available for 375 Field Communicators licensed for only HART. But it is required for 375 Field Communicators licensed for both HART and FOUNDATION fieldbus. That means every FC375 with HART and FOUNDATION fieldbus has the opportunity for EASY UPGRADE. 5.1 Import the DD into the FC375 Start the Easy Upgrade Programming Utillity

For more information or special questions please follow the Easy Upgrade Programming Utillity Help which will guide you through the download process.

5.2

Hint; what exactly is an EDD/EDDL?

An EDD (Electronic Device Description) is an electronic device data sheet, but developed by using a more powerful and universal language, the Electronic Device Description Language (EDDL). An EDD typically describes the application-related parameters and functions of a field device such as configuration parameters, ranges of values, units of measurement, default values, etc. An EDD is a versatile source of information for engineering, commissioning, runtime, asset management, and documentation. It also contains support mechanisms to integrate existing profile descriptions in the device description, allow references to existing objects, to access standard dictionaries and to allow assignment of the device description to a device. An EDD is independent of operating systems and supports the user by its uniform user and operation interface (only one tool, reliable operation, and reduced training and documentation costs) and also the device manufacturer (no specific knowledge required, existing EDDs and libraries can be used).
