Job Title: Education Program Coordinator Full-time, 40 hours/week , hourly, non-exempt

Montalvo Arts Center is seeking an experienced and organized Education Program Coordinator to join our outstanding Education Department. Under the direction of the Education Program Manager, this position is one of two Coordinators and will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of administrative tasks, program organization and management of a range of community educational programs as part of Montalvos expanding Arts Education & Outreach initiatives. The Coordinator will work closely with other Montalvo staff, artists, teachers, consultants, interns and volunteers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Work as a team member within the Education Department to coordinate all Education Programs including Student Arts Festival, professional development for teachers, Performing Arts Series for Students, School Residency Program, camps and classes, and other Family Festivals and programs that grow out of the Education Departments long range plans. Responsibilities will often include attendance at events to oversee operations, including evenings and weekends. Provide program administration, including scheduling, contracting, processing payments, budgeting, Facility Work Orders, marketing and outreach, managing and training seasonal camp staff, working closely with parents, program registration, use of camp software, invoicing, payment processing and compiling patron feedback. Interest and ability to work with and interact with artists both locally and within the Lucas Artists Residency Program. Training and supervision of program volunteers and interns, both youth and adult. Perform other related duties as required. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: Bachelors degree in Studio Arts, Education or related field required. Previous experience working in arts education administration with familiarity on program development and delivery. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Microsoft Outlook is a must. Excellent organizational and time management skills with particular attention to detail and capacity to multitask under pressure. Highly motivated, positive person with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to conduct effective problem solving resolution with growing Education Department. Ability to conceptualize with staff, teachers and teaching artists to implement high quality programming. Ability to work independently or as part of a team, and take initiative as required, under direct or indirect supervision. Ability to take leadership of specific programs as assigned. Passion for the arts and working with youth of varying ages.

Typical office environment; requires the ability to remain seated at a computer workstation for extended periods. Some job functions performed outdoors. Some local travel may be necessary; valid drivers license and access to own vehicle is required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Background check and DOJ LiveScan fingerprint clearance required. CPR/First Aid certification required within 60-days of hire.
