Fjate en las siguientes oraciones:
Ann took these pictures-These pictures were took by Ann.
Las dos oraciones se refieren a la misma accin, y bsicamente dicen lo mismo, pero de diferente manera. En
la primera, la oracin activa, lo importante es lo que hizo Ann, que es el sujeto. En la segunda, la oracin
pasiva, lo relevante es que las fotos se hicieron, que las hiciera Ann es secundario.
En ingls se usa la pasiva en acciones en las que el sujeto se desconoce o no es importante.
Our car was made in Korea. Para enfatizar qu o quin recibe la accin. The work will be finished today.

Las oraciones ACTIVAS tienen un sujeto activo, es decir, que REALIZA la accin del verbo. Por el contrario, las
oraciones
PASIVAS tienen un sujeto pasivo, es decir, que RECIBE la accin del verbo.

En las oraciones ACTIVAS el elemento que recibe la accin del verbo es el COMPLEMENTO DIRECTO. Por lo
tanto, al trasformar una oracin activa a pasiva, este complemento directo pasa a ser el SUJETO de la oracin:
They celebrate his birthday every year His birthday is celebrated every year.
Sarah typed a letter. A letter was typed by Sarah
En cuanto al verbo de la oracin PASIVA, ste consta del verbo TO BE en el tiempo de la oracin ms el
participio del verbo principal, por tanto, Se puede formar oracin pasiva en cualquier tiempo:
They took these pictures in Madrid. These pictures were taken in Madrid.
EXPLICACIN: El verbo de la oracin took est en pasado simple, por lo tanto para formar la pasiva, necesitamos el
verbo TO BE en el mismo tiempo (were) y el participio del verbo principal (taken)
En ocasiones te encontrars oraciones activas que tienen tanto objeto directo, como indirecto. En esos casos,
en ingls se prefiere utilizar el objeto indirecto (la persona) como sujeto de la pasiva.
