HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 9:00 & 10:45A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 1-3; Matthew 27:45-66 Monday, February 17 Gen. 1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. Sovereign LORD and Living Savior: I should be so much more grateful for having received light than what I am! I see so much more of God in the light and by the light of the word, for truly, Psa. 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Solomon says physical light is sweet (Eccl. 11:7), but the light of the gospel is definitely better. Spiritual light reveals eternal things and meets the needs of my immortal nature. I need light so my soul can see beyond this darkness. Holy Spirit, will you not give __________ and __________ spiritual light? Open their eyes to behold the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ, even as they see sin in its true colors, and themselves in their real condition as lost. Let them see Jesus! Let them see the plan of salvation clearly. Let them see the world to come just as your word describes it. Make them restless till they know you. Lord, since light is so good, give us more of it in this church, and in our community. Make me a true light-bearer by your Spirit to bring saving insight to the lost. Give me more of yourself Jesus, because you are the Light of the world. Let me prepare myself by prayer, because as soon as light shines, a division is caused. Light and darkness have no fellowship. God, since you divide them, help me not co-mingle them in my life. Give me freedom from the deeds, the doctrines and the deceits of darkness. Make me sober, honest, and above all bold as a child of light. I can leave the works of darkness to those who dwell in them. In judgment, in action, and in communication help me maintain a distinct separation from the world system and the things in it. For by that will the unsaved see and follow the light. I ask this for the sake of my Lord Jesus. Amen. A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 10-12; Mark 1:23-45 Thursday, February 20 Matt. 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS LIFE Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 4-6; Matthew 28 Tuesday, February 18 Rev. 3:8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. O Lord God of Heaven: So many times I doubt my worth to you. But all it takes for me to start to see an open door in my life is to remain faithful to your truth. Let my soul resolve today to live and die by what you reveal in your Word. WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR, Lord let me enter by communion. Who can stop me from praying? Jesus removed my sin, gave me his righteousness, and told me to boldly enter. Lord, I do so by your grace! WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR, Lord let me enter into your mysteries. Who can keep me from learning the Bible? Why, I can even enter into the deep things of God! Everything is set before me to enjoy. No promise and no doctrine remains locked-up when you but open the door of the scriptures to me. WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR, Lord let me enter into ministry. Who can keep me from serving you? If you will hear me and teach me, then you will also use me to play my part in accomplishing your eternal purpose. A door is opened for my onward march in growth A door is opened for my outreach to others with the gospel And a door is opened for my fellowship with other saints. No one else can shut me up, or shut me out! Soon I will see a door opened in heaven (Rev. 4:1). Then I will be with you Lord, eternally shut-in to your purposes. Rev. 22:20 Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Amen. FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 13-15; Mark 2 Friday, February 21 Col. 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Our Father: We dare call you by that name because we have received the spirit of adoption. We confess a desire to love you, and an implicit trust in you. We want to obey your will and seek your honordaily help us! All our dependence is placed on you. You are all in all to us. You are our fullness. If we lose ourselves, we only find ourselves completely when we look in you. We come to you by the way you appointed. Enabled by the Spirit whom you have given, we speak with very God. We are always grieving if we have offended you. Our inmost desire, Father, is to grow in a perfected faith and perfect peace. Psa. 119:128 Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way. Lord, we want with all the power of our mind, to be delivered from the domination of any sinto be led into the freedom of complete obedience. Jer. 17:10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. Lord, you know we want to promote your glory in every way we can. We count nothing as riches but that which makes us rich toward you. We count nothing to be healthy but that which is holiness in your sight. We reckon nothing to be pure, except what you have cleansed. We deem nothing to be good but what you have blessed. Our estimation of you is fueled by our love for you because of what you have already done for us. Continue to give us your blessing, and continually help us to praise. Do it for Jesus sake. Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 7-9; Mark 1:1-22 Wednesday, February 19 Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? Holy Spirit of God: YOU ARE DESCRIBED AS FIRE. Kindle an eagerness, an excitement, an enthusiasm in me. Give me a burning zeal to read your word, and to faithfully follow Jesus. Bring me a tongue of fire to speak to others about Jesus. O that we all had this fire! O that you would come in answer to our cries! Holy Spirit, blow through us again. Fire our church and each individual. Give us a revival of the gospel! YOU ARE DESCRIBED AS OIL. Give me a divine anointing! Anoint our pastors with fresh oil each Sunday. You promised to give the Holy Ghost to those who ask for him this way. I ask. I ask! I ask again! THERE IS NO WORK OF YOUR SPIRIT DONE IN US UNLESS WE SEEK IT. Give me fresh power! All the attributes of your Spirit come to us when we ask. I have his power if I acknowledge his presence. Bring him now and revive us! I have life, so I pray to have it more abundantly (John 10:10). I have pardon for sin, but I want a fuller appreciation of it, because that is revival. I have the Holy Spirit so I am saved, but I need your power in so many other ways. Lord, I need your direction and protection and grace. Oh, do not let the spiritual life you gave me ebb away. Make it stronger. It was birthed by your Spirit, so it will only grow by your Spirit. Give me a life that will crush the power of corruption within my flesh, for that is revival. I want more of your matchless work and gracious movement. Influence me through your indwelling, so mush so I seek to know you better, for that is revival. I humbly and patiently wait on you Lord, that I might daily have your Spirit. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 16-18; Mark 3 Saturday, February 22 Psa. 89:1 I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations. Faithful Father: Whatever else my lot, I praise you for your mercies, because they always remain the same (whether I understand them or not). Human feelings only sing intermittently, but faith is a continual songster of praise. When others are silent, I will keep on singing. I praise you in every circumstance, because nothing changes your loveeven when your providence seems to frown at me. I dont just believe in your goodness Lord, I rejoice in it. Since it cannot be dried up, then my joy never needs to slacken. There is no drought of the sparkling water of grace; therefore there should be no stopping my flood of thankfulness. You provide my daily benefits. Why should I be less happy at some times than at others? YOU are always the same! You are and ever will be faithful, despite my faults. Psa. 89:9 Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them. At the Red Sea the foaming billows saw their God and stood at attention! Lord, only you can still my own lifes storms. The anger of men, the storm of adversity, the depression of my souleven the rage of hell will be hushed at your word. So let me not despair because of the power of the Devil. Only you are the creator, sustainer, builder and upholder. You are never unjust or unwisetoo holy to be unrighteous and too wise to be mistaken. Thank you Lord! Psa. 89:52 Blessed be the LORD for evermore. Amen, and Amen.

JESUS is coming to earth again; what if it were today? Coming in power and love to reign; what if it were today? Coming to claim His chosen Bride, all the redeemed and purified, Over this whole earth scattered wide; what if it were today?
Satans dominion will then be oer, O that it were today! Sorrow and sighing shall be no more, O that it were today! Then shall the dead in Christ arise, caught up to meet Him in the skies, When shall these glories meet our eyes? What if it were today? Faithful and true would He find us here if He should come today? Watching in gladness and not in fear, if He should come today? Signs of His coming multiply; morning light breaks in eastern sky. Watch, for the time is drawing nigh; what if it were today? Glory, glory! Joy to my heart twill bring. Glory, glory! When we shall crown Him King. Glory, glory! Haste to prepare the way; Glory, glory! Jesus will come some day.

PRAYER DIARY

1)

TIMEWORSHIP Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

" INTERCEDE WITH GOD " INSTRUCT SAINTS " PROMPT PETITIONS " KICKSTART DEVOTION

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
