SAP ERP Central Component (SAP ECC) Security: A guide for auditors

Security in SAP is quite complex and sometimes a confusing subject for auditors. This presentation will provide an overview of the basics of SAP ECC security, with a focus on the items that should be reviewed when performing security assessments. Key security monitoring applications, especially the SAP BusinessObjects governance, risk and compliance (GRC) Access Control suite will be reviewed showing the link between security and monitoring tools. During the course, participants will walk through a sample audit plan that identifies important authorization objects to be checked, and learn techniques for assessing the users that can perform sensitive functionality in the system. Participants will take home a sample version of an SAP Segregation of Duties (SoD) Rule set for future reference.
