To power the machine it is necessary to use : Liquidelectrolyte lead traction batteries Sealed traction batteries with gasrecombination or gel technology
OTHER TYPES MUST NOT BE USED The batteries must meet requirements laid out in the norms : CEI EN 60254-1:2005-12 ( CEI 21-5 ) + CEI EN 60254-2:2008-06 ( CEI 21-7 ) . The battery compartment can house two 12V batteries
5) MAINTENANCE AND DISPOSAL OF THE BATTERY

For maintenance and recharging , comply with the instructions provided by the battery manufacturer. Particular attention must be paid when choosing the battery charger , if not supplied , since there are different kinds according to the type and capacity of the battery . When the battery reaches the end of its working life , it must be disconnected by expert or trained personnel . MACHINE QUICK START UP FITTING OF THE BATTERIES INTO THE MACHINE

To insert the batteries you must : 1 ) Pull the lever ( Pic 1 ) positioned on the water inlet and lift the recovery tank ( Pic 2 ) Pic 1 Pic 2
2) Open and remove the quick coupling (Pic 3) of the brush plate lifting cable (Pic 4 ) Pic 3 Pic 4

3 ) The batteries must housed in the special compartment in the rear part of the machine (Pic 5 ) , positioned + and - opposite to each other ( Pic 6 ) Pic 5 Pic 6
4 ) Connect the batteries in series using the supplied jumper cable to the pole + of one battery and the of the second battery ( Pic 6 ) Pic 6

5 ) Screw the two provided butterfly nuts to stop firmly the jumper cable

7 ) Connect the red main power cable to the + of one battery ( previously connected the jumper cable on the ) and the black cable to the of the second battery ( previously connected the jumper cable on the + ) to obtain a voltage of 24V on the main power plug

8 ) Finally connect the battery connector plug to the machine connector socket

FITTING OF THE SCRUBBING BRUSH

1) Move the provided brush under the brush plate , positioning it correctly in the middle of the connection

2 ) Push down the brush plate lever
3 ) Once connected the main power plug , turn the start key

4 ) Press the activating brush switch , the led will be switched on
5 ) Press the activating brush lever ( on the BT version it will activate the traction too )

6 ) In order to help the automatic connection of the brush , push the brush plate on the front with a foot during the pressing of the brush lever

FITTING OF THE SQUEEGEE

THE SQUEEGEE WILL COMES DISASSEMBLED FROM THE MACHINE DUE BY PACKAGINGS REASON . IT MUST BE ASSEMBLED AS FOLLOWS
1 ) Take the provided squeegee and position it near the squeegee support

2 ) Push down the squeegee lever
3 ) Release the two black lock and push the squeegee into the squeegee support till the end

4 ) Fit the suction hose into the squeegee hole
5 ) If not required do not touch the red knobs , that are used to adjust the height and the inclination of the squeegee ( the machine is correctly calibrated before the delivery )

MACHINE QUICK START UP BATTERY CHARGER

LavorPro suggest to use S.P.E. model : CBHD1 24V 10A IUIa-GEL battery charger . Warning : Never leave the batteries completely discharged , even if the machine is not being used . Check the battery charger is suitable for the batteries installed , in terms of both capacity and type
Warning : Explosives gases may result from charging . Provide Adequate ventilation during charging . THE RECOVERY TANK MUST BE LIFTED DURING THE CHARGING NEVER SMOKE OR ALLOW AN OPEN SPARK OR FLAME NEAR THE MACHINE DURING THE CHARGING

S.P.E CBHD1 Specification : TECHNICAL FEATURES OF THE CBHD1 SERIES The innovative characteristics of the CBHD1 range of battery chargers are the following: 1. Advanced technology High frequency system. 2. Charging process fully controlled by microprocessor. 3. Universal input voltage: 100-240 Vac 4. Charging process start in the soft start mode. 5. Automatic reset upon connection of a new battery and automatic start of a new charging cycle. 6. Protection against polarity inversions, short-circuits, over-voltages or anomalies by means of an output relay. 7. Battery to battery charger connection without sparks on the output terminals with obvious advantages for the active safety, thanks to the recognition of the battery voltage downstream the normally open output relay. 8. Signaling of possible anomalies by red LED fl ashing or by yellow LED fl ashing. 9. Insensitive charge parameters in case of 10% network voltage oscillations. 10. Effi ciency > 85%. 11. Output ripple at maximum charge lower than 100mV. 12. Start of the charge cycle even with 2V batteries. OPERATING PRINCIPLE OF THE CBHD1 On switching on a new battery charger of the CBHD1 series, the charger will check the battery voltage and decide whether to start the charging process. If the battery is not connected to the battery charger, the red LED will flash. If the result of the test is positive after 1 second the charging of the battery can start, with the red LED on. The output relay closes and the current of the first phase risesslowly till the nominal value programmed is reached. If the user disconnects the battery from the battery charger during the charging process, after a few seconds the battery charger will re-initialize and prepare to start a new charging process. The progress of the charging process is shown by three LEDs: red, yellow and green, as in the whole range of the battery chargers. The green LED shows the end of the charging or the last phase in case of deep charging process; in the former case, the relay is opened to disconnect galvanically the battery from the battery charger.

MACHINE QUICK START UP SETTING OF THE BATTERY CHARGER

When the machine is equipped with battery charger , it is sets to charge VLRA batteries , in case you are using different batteries please follow the next steps . 1) Remove the battery charger unscrewing the three screws

3 ) Underneath the plastic cap you will find two dipswitch to set the battery depending on the battery , the setting will be the follows :

CLEANING OF THE DIRTY RECOVERY TANK
1)
Disconnect the tube from its seat , open the drainage cap and empty the dirty recovery tank

1) Remove the cover from the dirty recovery tank
2 ) Make sure that the dirty water tank is empty , remove the suction sponge filter from his rubber seat than remove the seat

4 ) Once clean , use compressed air to remove the remaining water ( it avoid water to go through the suction motor )

1 ) Unscrew the tap on the bottom side of the solution tank and drain it completely
2 ) Clean with fresh water the inlet filter and the solution tank

1 ) Make sure that the solution tank is empty , if necessary , empty it completely

1 ) Lift the brush plate using the proper lever
2) Using the proper slot of the brush skirt , turn slightly the brush into the dead position and press till the brush is removed

Whenever the suction seems to be unsatisfactory , check that the suction hose is not obstructed . If necessary clean with a jet of water as follows : 1 ) Lift the squeegee using the proper lever

EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE REPLACING OF THE SQUEEGEE BLADES

If the squeegee blades are worn ( due by the friction on the floor ) the suction will be poor , few wet marks could remain on the floor after the passage of the squeegee . In order to replace them blades proceed as follows : 1 ) Remove the squeegee from its support arm unscrewing the handwheels , than remove them

2) Remove the two black knobs closed to the protection wheels
3 ) Using an hammer push down the plastic blades holder , hitting on the top end of the screws of the handwheels

4) Remove the blades from the plastic holder
5 ) Proceed to reverse or replace the blades if worn , the blades can be use on all the 4 edges of the rubber . Reposition the blades on the holder .

EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE CLEANING OF THE FLOAT
The cleaning of the float it is important to avoid that the ball inside it will be stuck due by dirty or particles between the seat and the floating ball . If the ball is not moving correctly the flow of the water can arrives inside the suction burning it . 1 ) Remove the recovery tank cover
2 ) Remove the float releasing the holding screw .

3 ) Using a jet of fresh water remove deeply the seat and ball , finally check that the ball is free to move inside the seat .

INSUFFICIENT WATER ON THE BRUSH

1) Check the level of water inside the solution tank , if necessary refill it 2 ) Check if the water tap underneath the machine is completely close , if not close it completely turning it clockwise , it will increase the flow of the solution
3 ) Check if the Filter inside the tank is clean , if necessary clean it

1 ) Check if the squeegee blades are clean , wash them with water if necessary

TROUBLE SHOOTING THE BATTERIESS CHARGE IS NOT LASTING

WARNING : THE LASTING OF THE BATTERIESS CHARGE DEPENDS ON THE TYPE OF FLOOR ; INCLINATION OF THE CLEANING AREA , AMBIENT TEMPERATURE , REGULARITY AND QUALITY OF THE CHARGING
1) Once fully charged the battery ( if completely discharge the time of recharging is at least 8 to 10 hours ) , check using a voltmeter the volts on each battery . The average volts must be from 12.8V up to 13.1V , if less the battery is not fully charged or oxidated

2 ) Using a voltmeter check the volts testing the two batteries poles as showed in the picture , the result must be from 25.5V up to 26.2 V

3 ) Check the amperage the total Amps of the unit , Using an Amps Clamp check them on one of the power cables crimped on the power plug , switching on suction , traction ( if available ) and brush check that the Amps are between the 36 to the 37 Amps ( traction version )
4) Using the Amps Clamps check if the suction motor working on the right rate , Example : switch on the Suction motor : 19-20.5Amp

1 ) Check if the outlet filter is not clogged
2 ) Check if the water arrives after the solenoid valve

ACID : A chemical substance whose properties include the ability to react with bases or alkalis in water solutions to form salts. Acids lower the pH of water solutions. When fatty acids (organic acids) react with alkalis, soap is produced. Many soils are weakly acidic and are more easily removed in alkaline wash solutions. ACID : A chemical substance whose properties include the ability to react with bases or alkalis in water solutions to form salts. Acids lower the pH of water solutions. When fatty acids (organic acids) react with alkalis, soap is produced. Many soils are weakly acidic and are more easily removed in alkaline wash solutions. ANION An atom or group of atoms that have a negative electric charge. An "anionic detergent surfactant" is attracted to soil that carries a positive electric charge. Anionic chemicals are mostly used by manufacturers to create foam. BASE A substance that has a pH above 7. Base chemicals are composed of negatively charged ions (electrically charged molecules). BUFFERS Chemical compounds that help stabilize pH and maintain the level of alkalinity as it is used up in the cleaning process. Buffers are not to be confused with bulk adding extenders called "fillers." BUILDER A name used to describe a chemical compound that adds or "builds" the alkalinity of a product. The higher the pH of an alkali, the stronger the chemical is (or more "caustic"). A detergent that has moderate to high alkalinity is referred to, therefore, as a "built detergent." The alkalinity builders most common to the cleaning industry are phosphates, silicates, caustics, and carbonates. Due to some potential for negative environmental impact (phosphates), health problems (caustics), and streaking (carbonates) the cleaning industry has seen an increasing reliance on the silicates. CAUSTIC Alkali compounds at the higher end of the pH scale (those approaching pH 14). Sodium hydroxide (lye or caustic soda) is the most popular caustic used in the carwash industry. "Soda" was the cornerstone alkali builder in most detergents for decades. Since the 1980's, detergent manufacturers have become much less reliant on caustics because of their aggressive nature. Caustics may destroy objects they come in contact with - from car finishes and aluminium wheels to human tissue if they are handled improperly or carelessly.

CHELATES Chemical compounds that act as water "softening" agents. "Hard" minerals (such as calcium) are attracted to and can neutralize the surfactants in a detergent. Chelates do not remove or exchange hard minerals in water. Rather, chelate molecules surround and cover (sequester) those minerals. With these minerals sequestered, the surfactants in the detergent are free to foam and clean. CLOUD POINT A term used in reference to detergents and in some cases waxes. Cloud point refers to the upper temperature limit at which an ingredient in a solution may separate out (precipitate). Both powders and liquids can have "cloud points," but generally, liquids have more of a tendency to "cloud out" at high temperatures. Clouding is problematic because once a chemical component falls out of a solution, that solution it can lose a considerable amount of its cleaning ability. In addition, after precipitating, the chemical is usually "locked out" and is unable to reenter a homogenous solution. Most quality products should be able to withstand being heated to 140 F. More inferior products can cloud at 120 F or even lower temperatures. CORROSIVE This term is used to describe the effects of an acid (pH below 7). Technically, the terms "caustic" and "corrosive" are each used to describe the chemical actions of compounds at opposite ends of the pH scale. When you consider, however, that both extremes of pH can cause chemical burns and "abrasion" they are - in effect - synonymous. DEGREASER A specialty product that removes grease, road film, and grime. Designed more for hard surfaces than for fabrics, degreasers may be used for pretreatment or as the sole cleaning agent, but they should always be followed by a water rinse. DELIQUESCENCE When water soluble salt minerals (ex: road dirt) dissolve and liquefy after exposure to moisture. When dry, these salts form a glue-like bond with other dirt on a vehicle surface and are extremely difficult to remove. DETERGENT Technically, all cleaning agents (even soaps) are considered "detergents." However, common usage has narrowed the term to describe those cleaners consisting of man-made (synthetic) chemicals compounds. True "soaps" are cleaners that contain animal fats or plant oils (fatty acids) as their essential ingredients. Modern synthetic detergents utilize chemicals extracted mostly from petroleum as substitutes for these fatty acids. Modern detergents can often contain complex mixtures of chemical compounds. However, the surfactant component of these mixtures is mainly responsible for the cleaning power of detergents.

DWELL TIME The period of time in which a cleaning agent is in contact with a soiled surface and is left undisturbed to penetrate, loosen, dissolve, and emulsify the soil. Dwell time is typically factored into the application of the more highly concentrated, active cleaning agents such as presoaks or tire/engine cleaners. EMULSION A liquid that consists of 2 or more different substances that usually repel one another. These substances may be thoroughly mixed, but do not dissolve into a homogeneous solution. Emulsions are sometimes referred to as suspensions. Microscopic examination of dissimilar substances (such as oil and water) will show that they are actually suspended and floating in molecular clumps - separate and apart from one another no matter how thoroughly they have been mixed. FILLER Is an inert, inexpensive substance that reduces the concentration of the more expensive active chemical ingredients in detergents. Several different types of dry ingredients are used in powder products; whereas, water is considered a filler in liquid detergents. Chemically inactive fillers are not equivalent to chemically functioning buffers. ION A molecule that has a specific electrical charge (either a positive/cation or negative/anion). Cleaning chemistry focuses largely on defining the electrical charges of the different types of dirt and the surfaces they soil. Cleaning agents are created to take advantage of these ions to either attract or repel other ions. The dissolving, emulsifying, washing and rinsing away of soil are, therefore, the result of this electric-magnetic phenomenon. PH A chemical symbol expressing the degree of acidity or alkalinity of a solution. The pH scale runs from 0 to 14, with 7 indicating neutrality. The pH number increases as alkalinity increases and decreases as acidity rises. POWDER A granule form of soap or detergent. Powders differ in size, density, and form as a result of their method of manufacture. PRESERVATIVE A substance that protects against the natural effects of aging, such as decay, discoloration, oxidation, and spoilage. In soap products, preservatives are used to prevent or slow down the natural tendency to develop rancidity upon aging. Preservatives also protect colors and fragrances. Butylated hydroxytoluene, stannic chloride, or EDTA are the most commonly used preservatives in the cleaning chemical industry.

PRESOAK Product designed to loosen and remove grease and oils. Builder ingredients used in presoaks are sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium silicate and sodium carbonate. In non-phosphate formulations, builders are sodium bicarbonate and sodium citrate. SAPONIFICATION The centuries-old process of producing simple soaps. It involves the boiling and mixing of acidic natural oils (from animals or plants) and alkaline substances (sodium hydroxide from wood ashes) thereby, producing a "true soap." Saponification also describes the cleaning process as done by alkaline compounds in detergents. In this case, alkalis mix with oily soils and water forming a type of "salt" that is rinsed away SALT This term goes well beyond common table salt or the rock salt spread on icy roads. A salt is any substance that forms as a result of the chemical reaction between an acid and a base. SOAP A type of cleaning agent that incorporates a natural acidic oil, such as animal fats, plant oils, or synthetic detergents. Soap is produced when these acid/oils are combined with base/ alkaline substances. A soap's acid or base structure enables it to mix oil and water. Soap molecules are able to both attract and loosen oily dirt, and then suspend the dirt in water for easy removal. SOLVENT A liquid that has the ability to thoroughly dissolve another substance thereby creating a solution. Water is often called the universal solvent because it has the ability to dissolve virtually every type of inorganic (primarily mineral) soil. Oily road soil, however, is classified as an organic material. That's because hydrocarbons that make up petroleum are derived from plant and animal matter that has fermented for millions of years. Dissolving, unlike suspending, oil and other organic soil requires solvents such as Glycol, Butyl, Alcohol and D-Limonene. SURFACTANT A commonly used abbreviated term for surface reactive agent. Surfactants are often referred to as a wetting agents. SYNDET An abbreviation for the term synthetic detergent. Syndets are cleaning agents composed of man made chemical compounds. TITRATION A method of measuring the strength and concentration of detergents. Titration is the method recommended by manufacturers to test a detergent's alkaline content when mixed in a solution or to confirm proper concentration. The most practical titration method used by most car wash operators uses drops of an acid which will react to the actual amount of alkali in the detergent solution.
