Welcome Remark

Association, and General Director of Phnom Penh Autonomous Port,

Mr. Kim Byung-gwan, Representative of KOICA to the Kingdom of Cambodia,

Excellencies, Distinguished Guests, Ladies, Gentlemen, National and International


Guests,

It is an honor for me to be here today with Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen for
this first workshop on “Exchange Experiences of the Cambodia Korea Alumni
Association” which have been invited from ministries, departments of Cambodia.

Excellencies, Distinguished Guests, Ladies, Gentlemen, National and International


Guests,

Let me introduce the brief background of this association and the reason why we
prepare workshop today.

The association has an unofficial name “I Love Korea Club” for 6 years. I would
like to take this auspicious opportunity to declare that this year is the 7th year that
our association achieved the association constitution and we agreed with our board
members to change the name of this association to “Cambodia Korea Alumni
Association, CAMKAA”. Moreover, we have held the 1st general congress to elect
the official board members of this association on December 22, 2007. In the name
of first mandate association president, I would like to thank and deeply appreciated
to the temporary board members who spent their time and their effort to get
achievement until now. I also would like to thank to all members who have been
supported our association. Regarding the workshop, our association has annual

activity plans to prepare the workshop two times per year, it depend on situation
and fund. Today is the first time that we organize this workshop. The main goal of
this workshop is to share experiences among members from one filed to another
field and from one ministry to another ministry. Also, today we have five topics
from the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy, Ministry of Public Works and
Transport, Ministry of Women’s Affairs, Ministry of Rural Development and
Ministry of Health to present to the workshop members.

I would like to express my deep appreciation and deep thanks to the people and the
Republic of Korea, especially to Mr. Kim Byung-gwan, KOICA Representative
and Mr. Son Sung-Il, KOICA Deputy Representative who support fund for
organizing this workshop. I also would like to take this opportunity to deeply thank
to the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) that provide much grant
aid to develop the Kingdom of Cambodia such as infrastructure, economy, society,
health and policy including supporting this association.

I would like to thank to H.E. Hei Bavy who takes his valuable time to participate
this workshop to be much more valuable and honorable.

I would like to thank to all board members of association who have actively
participated and really worked hard for the association to achieve fruitful results of
today workshop. I also would like to thank to Mr. Hort Sroeu who really worked
hard for the association and today workshop.

I would like to thank to all presenters.

I would like to thank to all participants for today workshop.

I would like to announce to open the workshop on “Exchange Experiences of the


Cambodia Korea Alumni Association” after the remark of Mr. Kim Byung-gwan,
Representative of KOICA to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
