Application The Metasys Integrator unit allows the Notifier AFP-200 Fire Alarm Panel
Details to communicate with the Metasys and Metasys Companion Networks.
Once a Notifier AFP-200 Fire Panel is connected to a Metasys or
Companion Network via the Metasys Integrator unit, its data is available
to the full complement of Metasys Building Automation System (BAS)
features, including Change-of-State (COS) monitoring, secondary
reporting, alarm and trouble notification, trend, and totalization.
Each Metasys Integrator vendor port can connect to one AFP-200 Fire
Panel. The AFP-200 Fire Panel has a single Signaling Line Circuit (SLC)
that supports up to 99 detectors and 99 modules, plus four Notification
Appliance Circuits (NACs) designated “Bell Circuits” on the panel.
When the AFP-200 Fire Panel is reset, all Binary Input (BI) points are
reset to an open or 0 value and any trouble status is cleared.

Metasys Release To integrate the AFP-200 panel into the Metasys Network, you need:
Requirements
• Metasys Operator Workstation (OWS) software Release 7.0 or higher
• Metasys Integrator software/firmware Release 9.0 or higher
Metasys To integrate the AFP-200 panel into the Metasys Companion Network,
Companion you need:
Release
Requirements • Metasys Companion Release 6.0 or higher
• Metasys Integrator software/firmware Release 9.0 or higher
Design When integrating the AFP-200 Fire Panel, consider the following:
Considerations • Make sure that the AFP-200 Fire Panel is set up and running properly
with Version 2.4 firmware before integrating with a Metasys or
Companion system. This includes configuring the
AFP-200 Fire Panel’s RS-232 printer port in remote terminal mode.
(The Notifier representative is responsible for the configuration and
operation of Notifier equipment.)
• The Metasys Integrator unit is not UL 864 Listed as a fire alarm
control unit. It is designed to provide secondary ancillary monitoring
only, while the AFP-200 Fire Panel provides notification and control
functions.
• When the AFP-200 Fire Panel is reset, all BI points are set to open
state and the trouble status is reset.
• The AFP-200 Fire Panel must be reset to clear alarms.
• RS-232 cable distance between the Metasys Integrator unit and the
AFP-200 Fire Panel cannot exceed 50 feet.
• The trouble status is cleared when a device reports a normal or off
state.
Cable Pinouts Use the following cable pinouts for the RS-232 connection between the
Metasys Integrator unit and the AFP-200 Fire Panel. You must connect
the male end of the converter to the Metasys Integrator unit.

The following tables show the points available for mapping on the
AFP-200 Fire Panel:
Detector Points BI points for each sensor have corresponding Binary Data (BD) points,
which are used to map the pre-alarm status of the sensor. These BI points
also indicate the trouble status of the detector.
When any detector point goes in or out of trouble, its value remains as it
was before the trouble occurred.
Module Points BI points also indicate the trouble status. These BI points also indicate the
trouble status of the module.
Note: All system trouble points remain unreliable once a device goes
offline/online, until the panel is reset using the system-reset button.
Individual points report online when a trouble status is reported for
that point.
