PN: RB2650 (5.0mm) 5kg 20kg E6013
Description and Applications
RB-26 is a high titania oxide type welding electrode for mild steel. It is widely used for
welding sheets of ships, rolling stocks and automobiles and for ornamental surfacing
of thick plates. It has a stable arc and penetration is shallow, enabling welding of
0.8mm sheets. Since spatter is rarely caused, perfect beads can be obtained. The
RB-26 is both AC and DC compatible.
Characteristics on usage
The RB-26 has self detaching slag. Downward welding in the vertical position
becomes easy to carry out with this electrode, resulting in perfect bead appearance.
Notes on Usage
When welding in the vertical down position, manipulate the electrode, keeping it’s tip
in contact with the mother plate.
Pay attention not to exceed the range of proper currents. Welding with excessive
current not only lowers X-ray soundness, but also causes increase of spatter, undercut
and sufficient slag covering. Dry the electrodes at 70-100˚C for 30-60 minutes before
use. Excessive moisture absorption lowers usability and may result in some porosity.

PN: LB52U32 (3.2mm) 5kg 20kg E7016
PN: LB52U40 (4.0mm) 5kg 20kg E7016
Description and Applications
LB-52U is a low hydrogen type welding electrode which produces the inner-side
reinforcement of the weld. In this welding, excellent weld metal and perfect root ripple
bead free from defects can be achieved by welding from one side of the joint. By this
method, a welder can speed up the operation yet still achieve good weld joints. One-
sided shielded metal arc welding of pipes and general butt joints of mild steel and
490N/mm2 high tensile steel.
Characteristics on usage
LB-52U is a low hydrogen type covered electrode for exclusive use for one-side
welding of pipes and general structures. Its arc stability is extremely good to perform
one-side welding with relatively low currents, and provides good slag removability
and smooth weld beads.
Notes on Usage
Dry the electrodes at 300-350˚C for 30-60 minutes before use. Reverse side bead
with good appearance is obtained with proper current and optimum root gap. Cut off
the arc after setting the crater to the side wall of the groove to prevent blowholes at
the arc starting. Keep the arcs as short as possible.

PN: C12-7 (12mm)
PN: C13-0 (13mm)
PN: C16-0 (16mm)
PN: C19-0 (19mm)
Description and Applications
Arc-air DC gouging carbons are made by mixing carbon/graphite with a binder,
baking, and then coating with a controlled thickness of copper. Carbons are available
in three types; Pointed, Jointed and Flat.
• Pointed carbons are the standard all purpose gouging electrode. Controlled
copper coating improves electrical conductivity providing more efficient, cooler
operation and helps maintain electrode diameter at the point of the arc.
• Jointed carbons have the added benefit of working without stub loss, with each
rod having a female socket and matching male tang. They can be used with semi
and fully automatic torches.
• Flat carbons are specially designed for close tolerance metal removal and scarfing
applications, producing a rectangular groove.
Air-carbon arc gouging is done in the downhand, vertical, horizontal and overhead
position with a stick out of 180mm and an electrode angle of approximately 35
degrees, depending on the application.
The groove width obtained will be approximately 3mm wider than the carbon
size.
The gouging action occurs when the arc is struck, removing molten metal as
the electrode is moved along the workpiece. A slow travel speed produces a deep
groove, a fast travel speed produces a shallow groove.
The air flow must be turned on before gouging commences. The operator must
ensure that adequate eye (shade 12-14), ear and clothing protection is worn.
Notes on Usage
• Fast, Clean, Smooth, hassle-free Gouging
• Able to remove metal from a wide range of common ferrous & non-ferrous metals
• Designed for DC Operation
• Superior arc stability
Arc-air gouging carbons are used for the efficient gouging, back gouging, and
plate edge preparation, touching up and removal of old or defective hardfacing and
stainless steel weld deposits. They are used for reworking plates, dies, castings,
pipes, armour plating etc. They gouge and sever ferrous and non-ferrous metals such
as carbon steel, low alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, nickel alloys (nickel less than
80%), magnesium alloys and aluminium on DCEP. Copper alloys, aluminium bronze
alloys and aluminium nickel bronze alloys can be gouged using DCEN.
Air carbon-arc gouging is used in many industries such as agriculture, automotive,
heavy fabrication, construction, foundries, maintenance and repair shops, mining and
quarrying, military, shipyards, power plants, railroads, steel mills to name a few.
Conditioning Data
If carbons are damp, they should be re-dried at 180˚C for 10 hours, otherwise they
may shatter.
High Efficiency Gouging Carbons
Arc-air’s high efficiency gouging carbon takes carbon technology and performance
to a new level. Formulated with a reduced carbon content and increased copper
coating they can carry a current up to 800 amps (an increased carrying capacity of
25%) while giving up to 10% greater metal removal. The improved outer strength of
these carbons allows for additional stick out length and the fluted exterior adds to the
improved current flow and carrying capacity.
