It is proposed to provide separate raw water & domestic water storages equivalent to 1.5 days water requirement for the entire Hotel Complex and for mall and office building. For both hotel and mall building, water from Municipal supply / bore well will be received in fire fighting tank. Fire fighting tank will be divided in to two compartments. Both compartments are interconnected from the bottom. The water from fire fighting tank will be over flow in to raw water tank. This symphonic flow of the water insures no stagnation of water in fire tank. Hence water received in raw water tank will be one day old water. The capacity of Raw Water tank will be as given in annexure. Treated Water Tank receives water from respective Raw water tank after required treatment. The capacities of Treated water tank will be as given in Annexure. Thus we will have separate storage of one and half time the daily water consumption for hotel and mall / office building. 10. Water Treatment Plant The Bore well water shall be used only after passing it through water treatment plant. Incase Municipal water is not of desired quality (during monsoon), then the same shall be treated before distribution. Detailed specifications for water treatment plant shall be prepared after getting water analysis report of tanker water & municipal water supply. Proposed water treatment disinfections of water. plant comprises filtering, softening and

Raw water will be pump to pressure filter through pressure pumps. Pressure filter will have quartz of different sizes, which removes suspended impurities. Calculated quantity of alum dose will be given to the raw water before pressure filter for promoting the process of coagulation and flocculation. From pressure filter water will be pass through softener to reduce the hardness to commercial zero i.e. 50 ppm to 60 ppm. The hardness of incoming water varies, as water will be supplies from different sources in case of shortage. In this case concentration of resins in the softener has to be monitored and a required change has to be make accordingly by the operating staff. Finally water will be pass thru U V Rays before water stored in the treated water tank for disinfections propose. 11. Distribution of cold water for domestic and flushing purpose: Hotel Building Domestic water for hotel building will be supplied by hydro pneumatic system. Entire hotel will be considered as one zone. . It will be ensured that the minimum water pressure at out let shall not be less than 1.5 Kg/cm2 and

shall not be more than 2.5 Kg/cm2. Hot water will be supplied thru the same systems. Flushing water to the entire building will be supplied by gravity. A set of pump will supply water from flushing water tank at basement level to the terrace flushing water tank. From this terrace tank flushing water will be supplied by gravity to each toilet. Water supply loop will be provided at terrace level to ensure equal water distribution. Mall, Multiplex and Office Building Domestic and Flushing water for these areas will be supplied under gravity. There will be Domestic water tank and Flushing water tank at basement level. Flushing water tank at basement will be part of STP. Respective set of pumps supply water to respective tanks at terrace level. There will be different tanks on each office towers. Water from these terrace tanks will be distributed by gravity. Loop will be provided for each domestic and flushing water supply to ensure equal distribution of water Hydro pneumatic system details will be given in separate section. PRV will be provided wherever pressure exceeds the maximum permissible pressure.

12. Hydro pneumatic system Cold water to entire Hotel will be supplied by hydro pneumatic system. This system enables supply of water under pressure to taps, by means of automatic pumping equipments. Water from treated water tank will be supplied through hydro pneumatic pumps to entire hotel for domestic water supply. The hydro pneumatic system comprises of three electrically driven pumps. Two pumps working and one will be stand by. One pump will run with variable speed drive so as to maintain a fixed predetermined constant pressure in spite of variable consumption. Three pumps will be used with software, which operate system. Each pump will be of 50% capacity of maximum demand. Hence in case of maximum demand two pumps will be operates and third will be stand by pump. The system will have a control panel; with one variable speed drive controller and two nos. fixed speed drive. This panel also has a software and pressure transducers. The control circuit shall be such out of three pumps one pump will be with variable speed and two pumps will be with fixed speed drives. Software device will operates such that all three pumps will run for the same number of hours. The software shall start the first pump on VFD. The pressure transmitter will provide the signals to the variable frequency drive through software controller in such a manner that as long as consumption is within the capacity of the one variable speed pump at fixed predetermined pressure shall be maintained by varying the speed of the motor proportioned to demand. If the consumption is more and the variable speed pump cannot cope with the demand the software device will keep first VFD pump running at its full speed and start the second pump on VFD. During peak load one pump will therefore be working on fixed speed and one pump on VFD. In case of no demand the software shall build up the speed of VFD pump to its maximum RPM for a set of time period to charge the diaphragm tank after which the same shall cut off and no pumps shall be operational in case of no consumption.
